: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that the NFL indefinitely suspended Michael Vick without pay Friday just hours after he acknowledged in court papers that he did, indeed, bankroll gambling on dogfighting and helped kill dogs.
And that suspecsion, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, is going to cost Mike Vick $150M - and that's not including fines and legal fees. Here's how they calculate it:
Vick will lose $71 million in salary over the next seven years if the Falcons terminate his contract, which legal experts say the team has the right to do.All we can say is DANG!!!He also figures to lose as much as $50 million in endorsement income over the next decade, according to an estimate by the University of Oregon's Warsaw Sports Marketing Center....
Vick's losses could go even higher if the Falcons sue him for some of the $37 million in bonuses already paid under his contract. The Falcons will soon begin pursuing some of the signing bonus money, a person with knowledge of the situation said Friday.

My take on Vick is, yes we know race has a lot to do with most of our everyday lives. His sentence would have been more lenient if he was white and many of our white counter parts don't receive as harsh a sentence as us for the same crimes, but that doesn't excuse the crime. There is no way in the world someone that funds an underground dog fighting game, electrocute, drowns or shoots his animals doesn't know it's illegal. If he thought it was legal, dog fights would be sanctioned and in the public. He knew it wasn't legal which is why he moved with caution, leaving money in bags when he won or lost. You also need to understand that this isn't his first fuc* up either. He gave a woman herpes knowing that he had the disease and slept with her unprotected anyway and he settled out of court when she sued him. Why? Because she asked him to take a test to prove he didn't have herpes and he couldn't do that. He has been caught with weed on more than one occasion so he knew he was being looked at under a microscope and he continued illegal activities. Now do you think that made him a smart individual. Let me start by saying, I hate this happened like a lot of posters- and I agree with a lot that has been said. But have we considered this- this story first came out years ago. I remember it- it was a Black football player who leaked it. Accidentally of course. But it has come up again. I hate it happened, but do we have all the details? Was Vick warned, but ignored it? There's an article where his father urged him to stop. Not giving him the glory (due to other factors) but wouldn't it be the worst thing if we, the Black race, discovered most of our issues were our own fault? I am Black, loving being it, and wouldn't want to be any other race. 1) I believe we choose how we come into this world (race, status, gender) and pick a life so we can exemplify ourselves the best. 2) I'm glad I'm Black, because if I wasn't, I wouldn't be able to understand us. Think about it- we were the first race on this planet. We're the strongest, smartest, the best of everything. But you wouldn't know it. How did we lose it all? What did we do/or not do? We overlook (or deny) the fact that a lot of slaves were sold into slavery. I hate to think of it, even to this day. But look what's happening, for so long in Africa. I've had 2 pitbulls a boy & a girl, neither one of them were violent dogs. Never turned on me or others. They were both very friendly and playful. People breed these dogs to fight & that's the reputation they have.

In 2005, former NFL running back LeShon Johnson pleaded guilty to Oklahoma dogfighting charges and received a five-year deferred sentence. Former National Basketball Association forward Qyntel Woods received 12 months' probation and was required to perform 80 hours of community service after pleading guilty in 2005 to a misdemeanor animal-abuse charge after a dogfighting arrest in Oregon.
