: Yesterday MediaTakeOut.com showed you Juanita Bynum's first press conference since being brutally assaulted by her husband, Pastor Thomas Weeks.
Now, in what we can only describe as the most OUTRAGEOUS response that we've ever seen, Pastor Weeks is talking about what happened. And it appears that he's blaming Juanita for all the bad publicity that he's been getting. Here's his unedited response:
I appreciate the comments shared by my wife on yesterday and likewise share my forgiveness towards her and wish her all the best. I also have had time to reflect on the events of the last two weeks. And I would encourage all who have already judged me to be aware that there are two sides to every story.This man is absolutely shameless!!!!Because I initially believed this was a private matter, I refrained from making any public statements about the situation. Even during the negative press coverage and media hype that has surrounded this case, my legal counsel has recommended that I reveal my side of what happened that Tuesday night only at the appropriate time.
Nevertheless, one thing I would like to make very clear to all who will listen, is to share my sincerest apologies to the every Christian, and especially to the Global Destiny Church Family, Sons, Daughters and Partners for having to endure this ordeal.
Because of the method in which this was handled just hours following the situation, it has not only hurt me, but has damaged the reputation of Christians around the world. It is for this reason, that I continue to trust in God while the storm would try to engulf me. Finally, I'm asking every Christian to pray that God's will be done. Bishop Thomas Weeks III

I totally agree with you. The problem with society is that because if people are in the spotlight they thing they are free from struggles, pain and suffering like the least of us. This situation with The Weeks will pass. God is only using this for his glory. If any of you know anything about her ministry or even how God operates, its that GOD gets the glory. How could you say they put their business in the street. It was a private situation that got completely out of hand and the public found out about it. Its irrelevant why they were meeting at 4 in the morning. Its irrelevant why they were arguing which cause him to strike her. If she was on TBN responding about the situation, its probably her trying to reach her audience and let them know she is OK and thank them for their prayers....I saw when she spoke to the media and she did not get into detail about the situation at all. In order to reach the mass of people, you need money to travel, literature to pay other expenses. Even thought they (some) do it from the heart, God never said they should do it for free. As business owners you should know the expenses of holding down a company. And a ministry is non-profit. Donations is all they get

I walked over some bums to get into alot of megachurches.......I walked thru some ghetto, poor azz neighborhoods to get into some churches....When I walked out of some of those churches, the ghetto hadn't changed, the bums still there and the poor still with us. Some of the poor were poorer because they just came from where I came from (church) and walked away coins and dollars lighter. Some of those pastors looked at their cartiers realizing it was time to go as they got in their bentlys and drove off. There is a such thing as living well and such a thing as a gross display of wealth when the very sheep you're supposed to be feeding become your dinner. Touch not my anointed......hah....feed my sheep. The churches of the 50's and 60's died and from their ashes came up the mega-church....In an age that the very leaders from then stood out in front leading the path to successes such as the civil rights bills. Now where is the church in the face of Jena 6 and other ills that plague our community. Allowed to ravage and knock down the gates that were built by blood and spirit. Give me a break.....

@HiLite...actually my church was with Thomas til he illegally flipped it to an academic accreditation center..Then she became the co-pastor after they got married. But like the Colts left Baltimore under a shroud of darkness they did the same thing in DC...So I became church homeless. I go to a church now where it ain't home but it's a ok place to be mildly entertained. You're free to come sit in but there are some fees you have to pay. 1. A finders fee 2. A ticket for coming in. 3. A general offering 4. A luv Offering 5. A safe travels offering 6. A parking offering 6. Any miscellaneous offering I might've forgotten.....

Some women were so excited that that they would stuff those envelopes to the max. The more man-cash dey put in the sooner dat maahhn was gonna come to dem..... I remember there was a woman sitting in on one of his sermons and she kept hooping and hollaring like she was having an orgasm. I loved that sermon.....but I can't tell you what it was about. I was highly entertained by his hijinx and strangely enough I didn't feel bad for those women. In retrospect I kinda feel for them but to be so gullible in such unorthodox way to find a man.....That told me that their problems were far beyond a spiritual issue....I still haven't figured it out but whatever it is.....it's pretty serious. A good friend once told me and I think it's true....The church is merely a hospital filled with sick souls. Although I don't in ANY WAY condone abuse by anyone, I think that we are missing the big picture. The word of God said that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, and what the enemy has accomplished is damaging 2 powerful ministries. The enemy is currently attacking the church with a vengence. He is attacking the heads of the church and causing division among them, therefore causing division within the church. He is using people with guns and drugs as instruments to kill children that have a divine destiny on their lives so that their journeys are not fulfilled. He is causing the saints to "rewrite" the scripture to justify their sin. There is a war going on people, a spiritual war, and the devil is kicking our behinds!!! I enjoy my own personal relationship with the Oneness that governs the universe and all life within. My only reason for posting today is to ask a question: How many people sit in churches, under leaders with personal struggles, issues, and shortcomings every Sunday? How many of you invite people to visit your church to hear your pastor preach and your choir sang, knowing that there is mess and drama? How many of you gladly give your last to a pastor who lives in neighborhoods you are allowed to visit? Drives cars you can't afford because you're riding the bus and catching rides? And yet you gladly give seed offerings? You brag about giving your last dime, even though your lights are off at home but you give to the "mand- and womand" of God, as that is your reasonable service? You do all these things week in and week out, and yet you all sit in judgement of this woman? You criticize her ordeal as an attempt to get more money, and yet you experience the same thing in your local churches. And don't tell me your church and pastor are the exception to the rule. I've been in enough of them to know that sometimes you're better off staying in the world because church people can kill you. Just a question.
