: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that rapper Ja Rule has the gay community up in arms. In a recent interview with Complex Magazine, the washed-up rapper complained about the role of homosexuals on TV.

Homosexulaity should not bother anyone who is comfortable and sure of their own sexual experience. That's is a crock. We all have a choice of what we watch and expose our children to. Taking programming off of tv because a segment of the population doesn't agree with it is NOT what our country is founded on. Those freedoms are protected by our constitution.
Using his logic if you watch, A Homosexulaity, Murder, Adultery, Debauchery, Fighting, Lying, Greed, etc on TV then you will become those things. I have to agree with the little man somewhat. TV nowadays is just disgusting! It seems like every commercial, every sitcom, every reality show, even cartoons all depict homosexuality whether it's blatant or subliminal. A lot of what he says is correct. If America was so called worried about affecting their youth they would look more at the influence tv and media has. It seems to me that Ameirca willtry to blame rap/hip hop for everything if they could. Instead of HIp/hop conference in DC it should be a conferenceon how tv and media is killin the youth.

See you don't just sit your child down in front of the TV and go somewhere else. I sit there and watch them with her so I know what they are about. I agree prettyboi. I watch MTV all the time and I dont see much if any homosexuality on the network. Real World has a gay cast member every once in a while. But the current season doesnt have any. Why should it matter any way, your kids are going to grow up and be whatever they want regardless of television. @prettyBoi, here's a line up of the afternoon Mtv shows: Exposed, Next, Dissmissed, Parental Control... the irony of that one, REAL World and the newest addition which I admit will be airing at ten in the night is this new show where this woman Tila Tequila have lesbians, and men compete for her affection. But, we all know that there is a 95% chance that show will re air in it's entirely on a wonderful afternoon for the little ones enjoyment. All of these shows to me exploit lesbians, Bi, and gay men in an negative light. It just validates many unfortunatly close minded individuals that homosexuals are just promisciious. Now don't get me wrong I don't like to see hetrosexual getting involved in suggestive, sexual activities either. Now, you might say well that's not fair that a dating show involving a male and female participating in deogoratory promiscious behavior is acceptable to a group of individuals but vice versa is frowned upon. But, that's the society we live in America is not comfortable with this new wave in your face homosexuality. I'm single and a student..no children , and I work partime as a subsitute teacher, and many children do imitate this behavior that is on tv. Don't get me wrong parent's have a responsibility to censor tv programs, talk to there children, instead of having tv be there sex guidance counselors. And I know the old argument that parent's need to raise there children, and not allow mtv/tv specificlly raise there children, but in there defense it is hard when you have constant afternoon programs that bombard the children with sexual images wheteher it be straight couple, gay, or bi or explicit rap videos...please don't let me get statred on that one. Okay!!! I'm not a gay hater, but MTV should not be showing Next which has gays on the bus making out. Children are very impressionable in their earlier years and should not be exposed to that. For gays to say that it's okay for little children to watch stuff like this is inexcusable. Pedophiles often rape children because they themselves have been either violated, or have seen things that their minds are not yet capable of correctly processing. And no people are not born gay. Gay people cannot reproduce (i.e. have children), it is something that is a personal choice. Being born black, or white, or short or tall, that's not a choice, that's what you are. Homosexuality is something that people choose, whether they accept this fact or not. If a person looks hard enough they can find pros or cons for anything. The original scientist that found what is deemed as the "homosexual gene", was in fact gay himself, so of course he's going to do all he can to re-enforce his lifestyle. Saying that one is born gay is a way to gain acceptance from others, who feel that if a person is born that way, that they have no choice, therefor it must be accepted. It's a simple way to legitimize a way of life that otherwise would be condemned. As I stated before, I'm not a gay hater, you have the right to live as you see fit. But don't get overly offended when people voice their opinions about your personal choices. Any good parent is going to protect their child from not only violence and demeaning songs about women, but also viewing homosexuality at too young of an age. People always want to treat their children as friends instead of being parents and making tough choices, that their children are too immature to make.

TV is a reflection of the society we live in ... the REAL society not the society we WISH it to be. There are plenty of things that people do that some find offensive but if someone is not doing it to you WHY are YOU offended? Why should two men kissing or holding hands OFFEND YOU ? 3. The next attack is throu a word: HOMOPHOBIA. This word actually means "fear of homosexuals". But in this age, it goes against anybody who doesnt like, care fore, oppose, or agree with their behavior.
