Personally I blame Diana Ross. That b!tch started this falsetto craze. Before her it was big girls with big voices. Even skinny girls with big voices. Since then we've been stuck with Bitchonce and Rhianna and all these other Diana Ross wannabee's for the last 40 f*cking years. All of them jumping around like rabid f*cking bunny rabbits when they perform shaking they azz and [EXPLETIVE]. Stand the f*ck still and sing so I can appreciate the song and performance. I think her live performances sound bad because she gets nervous a lot. Like you can tell. And with an odd voice like hers she can not afford to get nervous because when her voice gets shaky it sounds screechy. She has a very odd voice that needs to be sung in the perfect tune because if she goes out of her range she sounds hoarse quickly. But I mean she can carry a note now SANG I do not know about that but she can carry a lovely tune.
Alot of ppl are on Rhianna jock bcuz she is pretty if she wasnt ppl would immdediately dog her. She CANNOT SING...we dont need proof MTO. Trust me those who know and respect good music from good artist know the difference. I dont care how pretty or fine you are if you cannot sing you dont need to be called a singer. wow, she sounded really great. let's be real you guys. she was definitely on tune and like whatwhatwhat pointed out, she is a product of the diana all the way down to mariah/whitney/christina/beyonce histrionics (you could hear the tinges of it at the end of every line) but from a purely vocal standpoint, she hit every tone in that song. whether or not your like the pitch of her voice is a matter of personal taste

Number 1, the reason people don't talk as much about how "BEDONKEY", as you put it, sounds is because her singing voice is because she doesn't have the vocal issues that the space alien has. If someone wants to say "BEDONKEY" screams too much, that's fine. But that all just depends on what style of singing someone likes. But at least it qualifies as singing in the 1st place!!!! No one considers whatever the "House Cat from Jupiter"'s doing to be singing.
And it's fine if you're not a Beyonce fan. I'm tired of her myself, mainly because she's a boring interview & her 2nd album isn't as good as the 1st. And it's cool if you want her career to end, that's on you. But to say Rihanna is young, fresh talent shows that you've been drinking the same Peroxide that Britney's been sippin' on lately. How in the hell is Rihanna young, fresh talent, when everything about her performing style is exactly the same as Beyonce's? The high heels, prancing around a stage with 4 other dancers in heels. The booty grinding, the sexy (trying to be) vixen persona on the stage. The only difference is that Beyonce's a better singer than she is, and her leggy prancing in heels is more energetic on the stage. So performance-wise, Rihanna's weaker version of Beyonce's style. Now like her or not, Ciara's style is at least an example of being somewhat different than B's. But not Rihanna.
So if you're looking for a departure from Beyonce's performance style, Rihanna's the last place to look. This is just an example of someone who hates one person & likes another, trying to create differences that don't exist, just because you like one of them. Rihanna sells 20% of what Beyonce does when their albums drop. If everything I named wasn't enough, call this check-mate.
