: MediaTakeOut.com got an EXCLUSIVE peek at the Soundscan numbers and Kanye West has OFFICIALLY DEFEATED 50 Cent. His album Graduation sold 930,251 copies in its first week. 50 CENT's Cutis sold only 659,682 Units (And, in case you're wondering, KENNY CHESNEY sold 400,202 units).
This news apparently comes as no surprise to Kanye. In an interview with popular Chicago radio personality Kendra G, Kanye was quoted as saying, "I always knew I was fixin' to win, that's why I played it real humble." Well guess he's not playing humble anymore...
In related news, MediaaTakeOut.com has learned that a disappointed 50 Cent has canceled three major performances in Europe. The three appearances were the MOBO Awards, the Vodafone Live Music Awards, and an MTV Germany performance.
No word on what, if any, appearances 50 intends on making this week...

Thank goodness! I've always felt that 50 Cent (along with Eminem and camp) is just an industry puppet, while Kayne (even in spite of his slight ego) is a LEGITIMATE rapper that's actually 1.) skilled 2.) been through real struggle and 3.) makes legitimate complaints (when he has his tantrums, lol)....still, it just SEEMS like Kayne is putting out real music without resorting to so many "disses" towards easy targets (unlike the coward, Curtis Jackson, himself)

As long as we have people like 50 glorifing guns, crime, drugs, promiscuity, and violence then the "industry" is happy because the misguided black youth will continue to try to emulate this lie and end up in that justice cycle so many of our men are caught up in. Everybody is rapping about vanity, themselves, illegal acts, or just nonsense. Nobody raps abotu going to school, getting educated so they can have legitimate careers. Children need alternatives to all of that. You can be successful in other fields other than the NBA and Rapping and they need to see that.
I have never understood this myself but blacks are the only people I have seen who CELEBRATE ignorance. like in school if you were smart, made the honor roll, were studious, and serious about your work, then you were a nerd, a square, etc. If you were the class clown, made back grades or showed a general lack of interest in learning and was just in school to be there then you were "cool" yet when the nerds grew up and made successes of their lives, then its the cool ones who dropped out, got ged's ended up in prison, on welfare with 10 kids, or wasting their life in other ways. Then they always want to lay that don't forget where you came from shyt on people feeling like because they made it w/o help from them by the way, that they owe them a helping hand ... please .. you had the same chance they did . Then when you don't then you are a sell out, you forgot where you came from and all that ... BS. News: 50 Cent Plays The Blame Game, Accuses Def Jam Of Buying Kanye West CDs Tuesday - September 18, 2007 50 Cent has reportedly accused Def Jam Records of manipulating Kanye West's album sales.
According to New York's Daily News, 50 (born Curtis Jackson) made the accusations during an interview with British based magazine Uncut.
"He's never had a fraction of the sales 50 Cent has," Fif said. "They could have only one scan and have it count four times. West's entire career hasn't sold half what I sold on my first album.
Both rappers' released their third solo albums last week. As of Friday, Nielsen's SoundScan figures showed that West's Graduation had shifted 600,000 discs while 50's Curtis had reportedly sold 430,000 copies. Over the weekend, several music industry trade publications like Billboard and Hits have estimated West's projected sales around 800,000 copies, with 50 selling in the range of 600,000.
Billboard's Geoff Mayfield countered 50's claims saying that there is a slim chance that Def Jam would have doctored the sales figures.
"The people who built SoundScan put safeguards in place to track sales that don't look kosher," Mayfield explained.
Representatives for 50 Cent and Kanye West did not return calls when contacted. Ironically, both artists are tied to the same corporation, Universal Group, which owns Def Jam and Interscope.

As long as we have people like 50 glorifing guns, crime, drugs, promiscuity, and violence then the "industry" is happy because the misguided black youth will continue to try to emulate this lie and end up in that justice cycle so many of our men are caught up in. Everybody is rapping about vanity, themselves, illegal acts, or just nonsense. Nobody raps abotu going to school, getting educated so they can have legitimate careers. Children need alternatives to all of that. You can be successful in other fields other than the NBA and Rapping and they need to see that.
