: Just two days ago MediaTakeOut.com reported to you that Mary J Blige's album had been pushed back from November 27th to December 11th. Now Mary's label, Geffen Records, has decided to go back on their decision and keep the initial release date. And it was Mary herself who pushed them into the change.
According to an insider over at Geffen Records, "The decision to push back the album was overruled by Mary J Blige and [her management]. They felt that because November 27th was the date her fans expected, it was in [Mary's] best interest to put out Growing Pains on that date.
But there may be another reason that Mary had the initial release date reinstated. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "Mary wasn't happy that [MediaTakeOut.com's] article made her look like a coward. She had a lot more to say about your site, but I'd rather not repeat it ... In case you didn't know, she's not a big fan."

I don't think that MTO is just creating drama so that people can keep reading this site. I don't think she seems to be like that at all.
There is room for more than one black female singer. We need more than just one image out there. I personally am tired of seeing the same song, video, and style from these younger artist.
That's why I like Mary, Ericka, Jill, India, and Alicia they all are great and all different. I also left out Lauren and Whitney. All great and all have different styles.

I would say that as a 30yr old I relate to Mary more, but when I was 15 in HS I was relating to Mary like I was living what she was singing about. Bey's song have never really had any substance to me except for Dangerously in Love & Me Myself and I. She's a great performer but if I chose and album to really get into the lyrics and emotion in singing, I will take Mary over Beyonce and day, over & over & over. Beyonce's music is too damn childish and superficial.

Aight let me break it down to those that dont know ish. Mary only sold that amount of albums her 1st week becuz of the holiday rush. Either way "Be Without You" was huge for her, and her 1st week numbers were highly impressive. Meanwhile Bey did 541k in her first week which is great as well. However, she released the dayum album a billion times and nearly every song on it was a single, not to mention that she had to use Shakira to better her sales, and without "Irreplaceable" Bey would have been lucky to even hit the 2 million mark. Although Bey sales she has never had an album hit the 5 million mark with as much crossover appeal and all the hits in the world, unlike Alicia Christina ect...
Mary has gained some appeal from the pop world. but she and her label both know that the urban market is really where its at for her. bey sales but her sales have never been as huge as they should have been. bey has overexposed herself to the point of no return and did everything in her power to go 3x platinum. Neither are great vocalist, but bey is releasing a live cd/dvd... how much do yall expect that to sale. that will go gold probably and maybe it has a slight chance at platinum status. but mary has a full album so shell sale more of course. beyonce on the other hand has not grown as an artist, and her look is stuck in the "Dangerously In Love" days. Really neither needs to drop anything, becuz remember Mary's greatest hits had just been dropped at the end of "06". And she was supposed to have more than 1 video off that album. Sure, Mary has had a long, successful career. But that doesn't make you bigger than someone, just because you've been in the game longer. In today's world, how Pop Culture you are is the true measure of how big you are. Therefore, that's hands-down Beyonce - like it or not. She is the queen of music pop culture for this time period. I know Mary is big, y'all, but it's not just about being big in the hood. Beyonce's as big in the pop world as she is in the R&B world. Game over. Next you're gonna tell me that Musiq Soulchild is bigger than Justin Timberlake. Again, no diss to Mary. She's done an incredible job with her career thus far. But it's about a little bit more than just being around longer & being the urban star, when the other person is an urban & SUBURBAN star.
