: Yesterday, MediaTakeOut.com was the first news source in the world to report that rapper TI was arrested by federal agents on charges stemming from an alleged firearms purchase. Now we've got some more EXCLUSIVE info into TI's arrest.
MediaTakeOut.com spoke exclusively with someone intimately involved with TI. And according to that individual, the charges against rapper TI are completely false!!
According to TI's friend, the rapper never tried to purchase any guns through his bodyguard. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "[The bodyguard] asked TI for an advance on his [pay] and TI gave it to him .... Whatever he spent money on - whether it be guns, drugs, or formula for his children - TI had nothing to do with it." The insider continued, "The government was just looking to pin a case on TI - they've been trying for years. So they pushed [the bodyguard] into snitching on TI."
And the insider claims that the cache of weapons found in TI's home was not his either. The insider explains, "TI has security that live with him and stay with him at all times. The guns that the [federal agents] found belonged to his security team ... And by the way, [the members of his] security team are licensed to carry firearms."

Unless he is off of probation, he can't live in the house with any firearms. That's against the law, set-up or no set-up. I don't know if you really spoke to anyone close to TI, but according to news reports the Feds got his ass good. They recorded conversations between TI and the body guard where TI asks him to meet him to get the guns. As for other people owning the guns in TI's house, they were found in HIS bedroom and three more were found in his car when he was arrested. One of the ones in the car was inbetween the driver's seat and the armrest and TI was driving. Forget about fake damage conrol. Dude got busted red handed and he is going down.

The charges against T.I. may in fact grow, as during a search of the vehicle he was allegedly driving at the time of his arrest three additional guns were discovered – one loaded firearm was allegedly tucked between the driver’s seat where T.I. had been sitting and the center console. Three additional unnamed people who were in T.I.’s vehicle were arrested, but one was released. Shortly after his arrest a federal search warrant was executed on Harris’ home in College Park. While conducting the search of T.I.’s home agents allegedly discovered three rifles, two pistols and a revolver in a walk-in closet in Harris’ bedroom. Five of the six guns were loaded. A total of 12 guns (and two silencers) were recovered during the arrest and subsequent searches. Per the allegations laid out by the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, David E. Nahmias, the circumstances that led to T.I.’s arrest unfolded in a rather unusual way. On October 2nd an employee of a federal firearms licensee advised ATF that someone was attempting to buy a machine gun without registering the weapon, which is required by law. The person trying to make the purchase was then directed to an undercover ATF agent who was posing as a machine gun dealer. This past Wednesday (October 10th) the buyer was finally arrested by ATF after purchasing 3 unregistered machine guns and 2 silencers from the undercover agent in exchange for $2,200 and a pistol. After his arrest the buyer agreed to become a cooperating witness (CW) for the government following his revelation to arresting agents that he was purchasing the machine guns for his boss, Clifford Harris, who as a convicted felon is legally not permitted to own a firearm. The CW had been working as a bodyguard for T.I. for the past three months. As of now, T.I.’s attorney can’t reveal the bodyguard’s name. “All of that will probably be made public throughout the course of the proceedings,” he explains. Given that his employment with T.I. just began in July, there are several skeptics already surfacing who wonder aloud if T.I.’s bodyguard was working with the government all along to help establish these charges. “I’ll leave those types of theories to others,” says Thomas. “We will deal with facts and law in court that are relevant and admissible. NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The mother of a 14-year-old who authorities say had a cache of guns, knives and explosive devices in his bedroom for a possible school attack was charged Friday with buying her son three weapons.
Michele Cossey bought her home-schooled son, Dillon, a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9 mm semiautomatic rifle, authorities said. The teenager felt bullied and tried to recruit another boy for the possible attack at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in suburban Philadelphia, authorities said.
Police officials told NBC News that the boy had confessed to plotting the attack.
Acting on a tip from a high school student and his father, police on Wednesday found the rifle, about 30 air-powered guns, swords, knives, a bomb-making book, videos of the 1999 Columbine attack in Colorado and violence-filled notebooks in the boyfs bedroom, Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor Jr. said.

The teenfs father, Frank Cossey, was sentenced to house arrest for lying about his criminal record when he went to buy a .22-caliber rifle for his son in December 2005, police said Friday. On his application he said he had never been convicted of a felony, but he had pleaded guilty in 1981 to manslaughter in a drunken driving death in Oklahoma and sent to prison, police said.
No sign of imminent attack Castor has said he does not believe an attack was imminent or would occur at all. He said Friday that the teen had a gdisturbed mind.h
gThis was a smart kid that clearly believes he was picked on and was a victim,h Castor said. gHe had psychological issues and began to act out on those feelings.h
On Thursday, Castor said he felt police were instrumental gin stopping a potential Columbine-like shooting.h

Police, who searched the home with the permission of the teenfs parents, also discovered seven explosive devices Castor has described as homemade grenades: plastic containers filled with pellets to which gunpowder could be added. Authorities said one grenade was operable and the others had been in the process of being assembled.
The search did not turn up any ammunition for the most dangerous firearm in the bunch, the assault rifle.

I usually agree with most of what you have to say. But I have to disagree with the Oprah comment. She's a positive black woman and she has done so much not only here but in Africa. She has opened up an all girls school there. Some of her opinions about rap music are valid, rap music over the years has gone in a different direction. And not for the best.
I still don't understand how these "rappers" and "sports figures" that grew up in the hood with that hood mentality can get to where they want to be and was fighting and busting their ass for and don't grow as a person. Still doing stupid crap knowing good and well they will be under the watchful eye of big brother more than ever.

I really hate that TI is in trouble AGAIN. I can't understand his motivation for attempting to purchase guns in a drugstore parking lot, much less purchasing guns at all. Why is it - rappers can't leave this lifestyle alone. It's not cute is it. Rap about - tell stories all day, however seperate yourself from the drama. Make better decisions for yourself and family.
Another note - it's the parents responsibilty to be role models not rappers and/or entertainers. Hell if parents would step the hell up - there would be any TI's!!!
Here we go again! I DON'T KNOW IF HE'S GUILTY. We are innocent until proven guilty. But I really get tired of hearing everybody screaming set-up when someone black gets busted for doing something illegal. Yes, the FBI and other government agencies have a long history of covert operations against black activist organizations. We know about COINTELPRO and how the FBI goons intimidated, sabotaged and wreaked havoc among civil rights organizations. It's not a stretch of the imagination to believe that they would be involved in underhanded dealings designed to destroy the credibility of black leaders. But the key word is "black leaders". Aside from that fact that setting up stupid rappers and athletes is like shooting retarded fish in the barrel, what other reasons would the FBI have for targeting these individuals up? I'm not being condescending, I really want to know. (And I don't just want the usual "because they're rich black men" because they're rich from the white man's money. Give me legitimate reasons.)
I only ask because in the past it seemed that these plans were targeted towards people of note trying to enlighten and educate the community. But now they do it because some of these fools make it so freaking easy for them to. Here's a pointer: if you're going to engage in criminal activities, run a tight ship. Some of these people wrap themselves in a big bow and present themselves on a plate to the feds and then look shocked when they get busted. Here's a hint, smart criminals don't make albums about their criminal activities and then taunt the law enforcement agencies. Smart criminals don't conduct shady dealings on their own freaking property. Smart criminals learn that you let your underlings do your dirty work so nothing can be traced back to you. And smart criminals don't entrust their lives and freedom to a$$hole they've only known for a hot minute. (People who have been proven to sell them out in a minutes notice.)

T.I was set the f*ck up. There is a lot of power in the hip-hop world, and if your a part of that then the hop-hop police is watching every little move you make. Who is he associated with? And how can they use any of these associated to set a high profile figure like T.i up. These ni%%gs need to be on point at all times when they're out and about. They also need there peoples on point, to recongize any funny [EXPLETIVE] from a mile away and may sure things go right at all times. Its a lesson learned and Im sure he'll be ok. Until then my prayers are with him.
I have yet to see an explanation regarding why in particular the Feds feel the need to set-up all these so-called "celebrities."
1. Some keep citing because he's a young black man who's rich. True, but there are a lot of black people out there amassing wealth the good old fashion way. You don't see them caught in stings by the Feds. (Maybe because they refrain from engaging in illegal activity.) Not to mention, who does his success really benefit? At the end of the day he's lining the pockets of some rich white fat cat. He's not a threat, he's a pawn.
2. Yes, it's been established that there's a special taskforce designed to monitor the activities of figures in the hip-hop community. But perhaps that's because they freaking BRAG about their illegal doings on record. (Kind of like of OJ's "If I Did Do It" bullsh!t book.) And not to mention they also keep in contact with many of the people they were engaged in said activities with on the streets. (So even if they are no longer engaged in illegal activities, they are still tight with people who do and are thus probably very knowledgeable of some illegal undertakings.) Is it right, maybe not. But you also don't have to add fuel to the fire but walking around flaunting your dirty laundry for everyone to see.
3. And maybe, in some cases, it's just karma coming back to kick some people in the a$$es. We're all really quick to point out how the white man is trying to tear apart the black community, but no one wants to admit that the people who help them do the most damage are our fellow brothers and sisters. We're quick to jump behind people who have confessed to poisoning our communities but we never stop to point a finger or reassign blame. Some of these rappers aren't threats to the white man's objectives, they're unwittingly his biggest supporters. Who do you think floods our communities with these drugs that 50 and others have boasted about selling? (I don't know any negroes with access to private planes and airfields, do you?) And who stands to benefit from the destruction of our neighborhoods? (They let drugs gut the area and then a few years later the same area is being gentrified for "upscale" a.k.a "white" clientele.) And at the end of the day, who stands to benefit from seeing a large percentage of our young black men locked up for drug related offenses. (Men who will find it damn near impossible to secure the means to take care of themselves the legit way because of they're records. And even worse, men who's voices are silenced from the loss of voting rights.) But we never want to talk about that. I'm not taking pleasure out of anyone else's hardship, but at the same time all deeds come to light and you reap what you sow. Maybe we need to do some self-reflection before we hop on the free some rapper bandwagon.
Even if what all you say is true I don't want to see the brother go down. It seems like black athletes and entertainers are being targeted, something crucial. Once your caught up in the system they throw everything they got at you to make sure a n*gga stays in his place. Again these brothas in this entertainment industry need to take a chile pill and be on point.

The bottom line is this Clifford Harris aka TI is a convicted FELON. Regardless of the fact that his so-called “security team” are licensed to carry firearms, he by law should not have been anywhere near firearms. Yes, they (his so-called “security team”) are licensed to carry firearms but TI is NOT he is a convicted FELON. And as a result he has placed himself and family in a fu@ked up position. With guns in his home and in the vehicle that he was in at the time ATF agents arrested him. That was just plain stupid on his part, I though TI was smarter than that. And, so it will be very interesting to see if TI strikes some type of deal with the Feds like Michael Vick to rat on some of his street thug associates for a lighter or no jail time sentence. And, believe me the Feds are going to hit him with the maximum that the law will allow for a convicted felon. You can put that in ya pipe and smoke it. Let’s see if TI turns rat.

It is a criminal offense for a felon to possess a firearm or electronic defense weapon. The law defines a "firearm" as a "sawed-off shotgun, machine gun, rifle, shotgun, pistol, revolver, or other weapon, whether loaded or unloaded from which a shot may be discharged". A person convicted of a felony is not eligible for an eligibility certificate or a permit to carry a pistol or revolver and the certificate or permit is automatically revoked for conviction of a felony. In addition, the person must transfer any pistols or revolvers to someone eligible to possess them or the Public Safety Commissioner.

@ ninja my “lame excuses/comparisons” were just a point of reference to say that there is not equality when it comes to punishments between the races.
