: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that the struggling Blender magazine has issued a list of the "Worst Lyricists." Surprisingly, the magazine includes on that list - rap stars KRS One and Common. Here's the complete list:
1. Sting 2. Neil Peart 3. Scott Stapp 4. Noel Gallagher 5. Dan Fogelberg 6. Tom Marshall 7. Paul Stanley 8. Dianne Warren 9. Donovan 10. Jim Morrison 11. Larry Henley & Jeff Silbar 12. David Crosby 13. Pete Gabriel, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Steve Hackett & Phil Collins 14. Will.I.Am 15. Bernie Taupin 16. Ben Gibbard 17. Jon Anderson 18. Ian Anderson 19. Queensyche 20. Ryan Ross 21. Alanis Morisette 22. Jon Bon Jovi 23. Robert Plant 24. Fred Durst 25. KRS-One 26. Simon Le Bon 27. Will Jennings 28. Greg Graffin 29. Timbaland 30. Kevin Federline 31. Carli Simon 32. Matisyahu 33. Diddy 34. Henry Rollins 35. Dashboard Confessional 36. Common 37. Bryan Adams 38. Paul McCartney 39. Billy Corgan 40. Anthony KiedisNow we can sorta understand having Will.i.am on the list. But Common and KRS One??? Someone over there needs to be slapped silly...
Any sensible Black person will tell you, Blender is a WHITE boy magazine. It's read by corny white men who steal our culture and try and change it to suit them while banging stupid black women like Halle Berry. So of course they are going to put KRS one who is all about educating his people through hip hopon their tired list. We know the truth!
Agree with DeeChocolate;
Blender IS a white magazine and they'd much rather listen to rappers using the words N*gga, Bitches and 'ho's than something positive.
Notice how NO so-called Gangsta rappers are on this list while they actually ranked Timbaland, Will.I.am and KRS-One worst lyricists than KEVIN FEDERLINE!!!
I see why Blender magazine is stuggling. For Blender to think Common and KRS as one of the worst lyricst of all time, must be smokin. Clearly who ever wrote this and who ever allowed it to be printed don't know what true Hip-Hop is. Common and KRS are truly legends in the game and Common is just now getting his props. Blender Magazine taste must run among nonsense like Laffy Taffy and other garbage that has made Hip-Hop a joke.
Thye are way off on this list with KRS One and Common obviously (interesting to see Timbaland on there-He is more of a producer though, as well as Diddy. And of course I can see K-Fed and Will I Am there.). But look at the other known people: Paul MaCartney? Sting? Phil Collins? Alanis Morrisette? I know I'm not the only black person to jam to them at some point in life! LOL! All the others on the list I really don't know.

Who the hell are the blender magazine people supposed to be anyway?
Anyone who would EVER put two of the greatest in hip-hop on this sort of list 1) Deserves to be smacked and 2) doesn't know a godd*mn thing about real hip-hop.
It's a damn shame when all this garbage on the radio obscures what REAL hip-hop is.
Well they trying to make sell its nothing wrong with that. But Common and KRS1 ... No Comment!!!!
OK I lied they are 1 of the best. I like them both and I'm from the south. Yea b/c you know what they have to say about the south. Thats another topic. So check it out and post your comment.

KRS1 sucks???
Last Song on Criminal Minded, which happens to be the Title track. Last 2 lines.... SCOTT LA ROCK AND I ARE MENTALLY BLINDED, IN OTHER WORDS WE'RE BOTH CRIMINAL MINDED. HOW THE HELL CAN ONE BE SO DEEP AS TO SUM UP THEIR ENTIRE ALBUM IN TWO LINES??? His music is not for the intellectually stunted, and with that being said... some of you still won't get it.
Two words: White Folks. WTF do Blender Magazine know about rap lyrics anyway. it would be of no surprise that they would say KRS-One & Common-- two of the most concious pro-black brothers out there. they dont wanna hear that. Concious Black thought is the last thing they wanna hear. Blender Magazine couldnt tell me shyt.
co-sign dee chocalate and co bonner to the fullest fugg blender obviously their brain is blended it's just a corny white magazine run by suburban crystal meth heads common and krs among worst all time??? one of the funniest things i ever saw on ANY website if they was talking about shoooting n killing nuccas they would be among the best dee chocalate put it in perfect perspective though look what is going around us these kkk nazi skinhead mofos def trying to start up some sh** putting nooses everywhere now they put one on tupac's statue tupac talked sh*8 but he was a revolutionary common and krs revolutionary put kind of clean cut but still revolutionary these crakkas want every black person to be like 50 cent common krs and tupac? naw they don't wanna see that sh** UNITED BLACK NATION STAND UP
What the hell is Blender? Never heard of it. And I assume they dislike Common and KRS-One because they use big words that you have to look up in the dictionary. It's easy to rhyme bling with ring, but pulling off some of the rhymes those two do is a feat. Next they'll be saying Talib Kweli and Mos Def have weak lyrics. (Or maybe it's because they've never really listend to KRS-One or Common.)

Thankyou tell these fools again....those who have no intellect cannot understand presence of the one they called KRS1
Who the f*ck is blender to think that they can validate or invalidate hip-hop artist. Nice find...but truth is - the people don't even read that garbage magazine. Further, how can anyone take that magazine seriously after this???
Get the F*ck outta' here. You mean they just conveniently forgot about J-Kwon and a lot of other one hit wonders I can name??? lol

Now I grew up listening to KRS 1 and Common and I can honestly say this list is BULLS#%@T! It's a magazine geared predominantly to the rock crowd but obviously they don't have a clue. The fact that they included many award winning songwriters and performers speaks volumes. #1, #3.(Creed),#13.(Genesis),#21,#22.,#31, #37, and #38 are all pretty mainstream. Their success speaks for itself. So in this case I don't think it's the fact that it's a predominantly white magazine, these people just aren't very musically inclined.
WTF? How could they have Diane Warren on that list?? Diane's songs are the [EXPLETIVE]!
Judging from that, I could see why they put KRS-1 and Common on there....they are INTELLIGENT lyricists and actually have something important to say. Knowing these [EXPLETIVE] they would probably say Eminem is a great lyricist...white boy talking about raping and killing his moms and how much he hates gays...yeah, that's great songwriting skills. Give me a f**cking break.
Why do people get so upset about the Blender Magazine's and Ann Couture's of the world. They are simply sensationalists who say the most outrageous things they can for publicity and profit. If we paid them no attention they really would go away. I can't believe black folks are talking about some damn Blender magazine. LOL
I've read Blender plenty of times at the barber shop I got to and i'm not white and the niggras in there damn sure ain't white either and from my knowledge of the magazine they're a joke magazine. They have all kinds of stupid funny shyt in their magazines. They have real shyt in there too. And it is a white magazine but they interview people like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, etc just like anybody else so it's not like it's just for white people. I'm sure this shyt was definitely a joke because PHIL COLLINS & STING come on now. I'm not even trippin on the Common shyt i'm surprised they got PHIL COLLINS & STING on that muthafugga. It's definitely a joke.
WTF??????? Are they crazy??
They definitely don't know WTF they are talking about. Someone said because they are a white magazine, they wouldn't know. Well, they don't know what they are talking about when they are commenting about the white people either: Ian Anderson?? He is f*cking brilliant!!! Sting? Bernie Taupin? Bernie has written some of the most classic and enduring songs of all time!Alanis Morrisette? Her first album was kick a$$, a lot to do with her lyrics. Henry Rollins is cult status good.
Nah, they're whole game is f8cked up all across the board.
They need to be b!tchslapped for real. GRRR. Don't talk sh!t about Common and KRS One.
