: MediaTakeOut.com is hearing whispers that Ike Turner may be hospitalized with a serious illness. According to one of our faithful readers who's connected with a California hospital, the 75 year old singer-songwriter checked in a few days ago.
And the reader claims that he's not doing to well. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "There with all kind of tubes hooked up to him."

My Mother, and Auntie grew up in St. Louis with Ike & Tina. As a matter of fact they lived about 2 or 3 doors down from Ike & Tina, and they said the police was always on they block because Ike use to be whipping Tina butt, over every little bitty thing. The movie spoke for itself, and that was just some of the stuff Tina use to go through with that man... But they say what goes around comes around. It doesn't pay to be mean to treat people bad... because GOD see's everything we do and he will punish those he feels he need to.

That is messed up. The movie did cast him in a bad light, but it kind of skipped over the part about Tina's oldest not being his son. The movie made it look like it was, but that child actually belonged to one of the musician's in the band. If you gonna tell the truth; tell the whole truth. Still...he was wrong for hitting her and trying to force her to eat the cake.

Either way, they're both still getting paid. Tina has a HUGE following - black and white - who will pay to see her no matter how many times she claims it'll be her last concert. People - black and white - will pay to see Ike, too. So you see, at the end of the day, it all still worked out for everybody. Even though it took them 18 years of "knock down and drag out" before they finally saw the light and realized that they couldn't live like that forever. Not for themselves and damn sure not for all them kids they had between the two of them. Funny. It didn't matter who the father or mother of those boys were, Ike and Tina raised all of them up together as if all of them came from the two of them.

Maybe on his death bed he'll finally confess to beating the hell out of Tina. He has yet to admit that yet. I don't care if it was 100 years ago, he was a wife beater and needs to apologize to her. That's why St. Louis wouldn't honor him with his own "Ike Turner" day. He doesn't deserve that. He's still in denial in his '70s.
@Jeronsmom: Ike and Tina are way older than me but every person I know that lived near them have the same story--that Ike use to beat her all the time. Years ago that behavior seemed condoned for men to do but not anymore. Today, even some pastors will tell a wife to leave her abusive husband in a heart beat and don't look back.
