ARtists do this all the time-they'll show up randomly at some high profile club and give their songs and performances a test drive in front of the club to get some publicity and feedback. BlessedOa, I read on one of the hiphop blogs that Nas threw down against Sharpton et al who were telling him not to do it, saying that if Cornel West had entitled a book called n/i/g/g/e/r then it would have been assumed Cornel had something intelligent to say -- so why don't folks assume Nas has something intelligent to say within his new album? At that point, folks at the blog were talking about he'd better put his money where his mouth is if he's going to make a claim like that, it's going to have to be some seriously deep, profound s/h/i/t he's going to drop.
