i have 2 tatts but I would NEVER get a tramp stamp if I want to continue having a good job and being a success. It's the same as getting a tattoo on your neck, sure you can TRY to cover it, but it will never be fully hidden. I don't know why the lower back tattoo has gotten negative connotations but it does! Trust! The tramp stamp is like smokin cigarettes. As soon as someone sees it or knows that you have it, their impression of you changes. Now you went from the har working woman to the freak with the tram stamp/ bullsyeye! For instance, I smoke, but I dare not smoke at work or on any of my breaks because as sad as it is, people pass judgement on cigarette smokers (they're stank, they're lazy, there not as hardworking, they're weak, etc.)-- the same goes for those who have tongue rings )she's a freak, she sucks d*ck) and the same for the tramp stamp. I would love to get one... but it's simply not worth it! I got my tatts on my ankle (i never wear skirts at work... always pants suits... and i think they're sexier than skirt suits anyway) and the bikini area right near my hip where my panties cover it but you can see it if you're my man or we're at the beach.

There's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with getting a tattoo on that part of your body. I have one myself, and I'm not a tramp, by ANY means. My tattoo is my son's name... it looks something like this: *Daniel*. Just because a lot of people have deemed lower back tattoos on women as "tramp stamps" doesn't mean that's what it is, so Slb2026, don't be so naive and stop being such a follower. True, visible tattoos are VERY unprofessional at work, but that's EXACTLY why I got my tattoo in that area. Not so a man can cum in that spot, not because I'm a whore or a tramp, none of that. It's so it's not visible to anyone in the professional setting that I work in. Slb2026, I don't know WHAT you wear to work, but very few people at my job even know that I have any tattoos AT ALL. So unless you're dressing like a slut bucket when you go to work, no one will see it unless you pull up your shirt or dress to show someone, period. But please don't let anyone make you believe that tattoos define who you are or determine what kind of person you are. If you choose to get a tattoo in ANY area of your body, make sure you do it for YOU. Worrying about what everyone else is going to think about you while deciding to get a tattoo is your 1st mistake.
LMAO...what the hell do you wear to work if you feel as though someone might see your lower back tattoo if you got one? How can you compare it to a tat on the neck?? The only way to cover a neck tat is to wear a turtle neck, year round. To cover a lower back tattoo all you have to do is put on a shirt that fits, or is neatly tucked!
No one that I work with knows about my tattoo and i've bee working at the same place for the last 5 years. Actually i chose to get one on my lower back for this exact reason.
I don't have any tattoos. But when I was in my early twenties I wanted one real bad..But I decided to wait, because to tell you the truth I couldn't decide what I wanted it to say. I didn't have a word or picture that was dear enough to my heart to print on my body for the rest of my life..
I have four sons but I knew their names.. so I didn't need to print on me it's not like I was going to forget them. Not to mention I didn't want a list going down my arm..lol..
I've loved the men that I loved deaply, but I'm not with any of them now so I'm so glad I didn't put any of their names on me. Besides I had an ex boyfreind that had his first love's name tattooed on him. And I hated that ish.. so I didn't think that would be a good idea for me.
But for some reson I still wanted one I just couldn't figure out what to get..
Then one day my sister and I volunteered at our Church.. They were giving a benifit dinner for the Choir.. Sister Anderson was in charge... She was an older lady maybe about 58 to 60 years old real humble. to make a long story short, the kitchen got real hot and sister Anderson rolled up her sleve and ther it was...... a wrinkled discolored tattoo of a cat with the word sexy kitten under it.... (OMG)... We all stop and looked it got sooo quiet!! We were shocked..
But she had a great sence of humor... She said " ok go ahead and laugh get it out your system so you can get back to work.. Anf that we did!! ..lol
But it certainly changed my mind.. No tattoo for me

Think about it ladies..A tattoo is a life long commitment. And the mind set you have at 20 something is going to be real different from the mind set you have at 50 something.. And your a Grandmother or a Great Grandmother...

I got one tattoo and frankly I won't be worried about it at 60 or 70. It is what it is. I have no regrets on getting it either. It's on my upper arm and it's sexy. But that's one thing I'll never ever do is put a man's name (unless it's my Dad) onto my body. Men come and go...tattoos are pretty much forever.

so this is why I work for a large investment bank in NYC and you probably flip my burgers during my lunch break. Don't be fooled! I've seen MANYYYYY tramp stamps at work from people who think, 'if I pull down my shirt, they won't see it.' Um... actually, we CAN! If you bend over to pick up something you've dropped, we see it! If you raise you hands to say something, WE SEE IT! Also, for you to say, get a tattoo wherever you want and don't worry about other people... are you serious???? This is exactly y a lot of our people can't get a real f*cking job! This is the united states of WHITE america-- dont get it twisted! If you have a tatt on your face, neck, hands, feet, WRIST, and you want a REAL job (like one with benefits and a 401K for those of you who don't know what a REAL job is... paging sexyazzred and sweetluxury) you're not going to get it! Ok, I'll be the bigger person and clarify my words. I wasn't calling you a slut bucket, Slb2026. I used the word YOU loosely, meaning anyone who exposes too much skin at work. The term slut bucket wasn't directed at you. I'm sure you dress very professionally at work.
But seriously, name-dropping your annual salary doesn't make you important, it just makes you look like an a**. Throwing the amount of your salary around like confetti is so unbecoming and it is, indeed, very unclassy. I'm not saying you shouldn't be proud of your accomplishments, because you should feel like you've done a good job, being under 25 making more annually than most people in your age range make annually. But in no way, shape or form does it give you permission to presume that you're better than ANYONE. With all due respect, there's a lot of dumb a** people in important positions, and they're making even more money than you. Money doesn't buy smarts, it doesn't buy class, and it doesn't buy integrity.
As for your comment about your taxes, don't worry. My husband and I support ourselves and our son just fine without your precious taxes. Your taxes don't pay for our living arrangements either, seeing as though the house is paid for (and before you make any more smart remarks about me being poor, we didn't use gov't. assistance to pay for it, and NO, it's not a trailer... lol). You may make six figures, but your salary don't make the world turn any faster.
And you know why I'm not a lawyer? Because I'm only 22 years old, IF you call that old. Oh, I guess you once again assumed something about me that you had no clue about. It takes 5-7 years to become a lawyer, given all the time spent going to law school, interning at a firm, studying, passing the bar, etc. I just got out of high school 3 years ago. I'm going to college to be something that I'm passionate about. If not, why speak to me as if I'm a peasant making meager wages compared to yours? Meager or not, I'm grateful. And, getting back on topic, I LOVE my tattoo. It hasn't held me back in the least bit.

@ Blackgyr30, tramp stamp is the nickname for lowerback tattoos. Saturday Night Live did a whole skit on it and lowrise jeans when the top of the buttcrack shows (they call it coin slot). LOL I personally hate lowerback tattoos because EVERYBODY has them. Everywhere I go, if a girl is thin, she has a pierced navel and a tattoo there, which is why I NEVER plan to get one there. But if you like it, by all means baby, get it regardless of what people call it.

My tattoo has never stop me from getting any job. Even though for professional reasons I keep it covered during work hours...but on Fridays when it's dress down day I'm proud to show it and get mad complements on it too. It all depends on how many and what kind of tattoos there are. Tattoos are okay in my book but having 5 or more is a little obsessive.

she has a degree in restaurant and hospitality management so "flipping burgers" was a CAREER choice for her. after my father passed she had enough money to pursue ANYTHING she wanted and that is what she chose. where else do you suppose someone with a degree like that work? in a bank?
