: MediaTakeOut.com is hearing a disturbing rumor going around about Chris Brown's new film, This Christmas. According to industry chatter, the film's script was allegedly stolen from Queen Latifah and producer Shakim Compere.
Here's the way one extremely well connected industry insider put it:
Shakim [Compere] and Queen Latifah had been shopping the idea of a Black Christmas movie named Perfect Christmas all around Hollywood. Last year, they pitched the idea to this one production company who turned them down. [Queen Latifah] and Shakim didn't stress it though because they ended up getting backing elsewhere and have [since] filmed the movie.Well now, you'll never guess what happened. The very same company that told [Queen Latifah] and Shakim that they weren't interested in making the film Perfect Christmas are the makers of That Christmas. Ain't that something...
And to make matters worse, word is the producers of This Christmas brought in some high priced lawyers and managed to legally swindle Queen Latifah out of the film's title. Now MediaTakeOut.com has learned that their film had to change the tile of their film to Perfect Holiday - instead of Perfect Christmas
We really hope that there's some explanation for this - 'cause this right here is really disturbing. Up until now, we've really been feeling this film.
Anyway, don't worry guys, MediaTakeOut.com is on top of this one. We'll do some more digging and let you know what we find...
The Perfect Holiday
"Nancy is a divorced mother of three who is so busy raising her children that she's forgotten to take care of herself as well. With Christmas fast approaching, she decides to take her kids to the mall to meet Santa Claus, not knowing that her youngest daughter Emily has sensed her mother's sadness and is determined to use her time with Santa to make her mom happy again. Just a few days prior, Emily heard her mom say that all she wanted for Christmas was a compliment from a man, so that's exactly what she tells Santa. Ironically, Santa, as it turns out, is office supply salesman and struggling songwriter Benjamin, who ends up giving Nancy just what she wants for Christmas, and much, much more." SOUND NOTHING ALIKE! ITS' JUST TWO BLACK CHRISTMAS MOVIES! TRY AGAIN MTO!
It dosent matter how different these two movies are as far as the scripts and storyline goes in the end they'll be all to familiar like all the black movies that keep casting the same black actors. At least with This Christmas it gives a slighly new cast of actors working together. But as far as the other movie you guys are talking about no way! Another movie with Morris Chestnut and Gabrielle Union as the love interest. STOP IT!!!! These are not the only black actors in Hollywood. I'm am tired of them not giving new faces a chance. It's like these handful of black actors are getting shoved down our throats, like these are the only talented ones you people have to offer. That is simply not true there is plenty of black talented actors that we may never get the chance to see on screen. We'll be stuck watching Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut, Terrrence Howard, etc. in every black production that comes to screen forever!Hollywood get it together give new black talent the chance to shine, its nothing like a fresh script with fresh faces.
Wait a minute....I think y'all are sippin too much of that bad haterade.First off the movie is going to do great at the box office so quit hating. And the reason why it is considered Chris' movie is because he plays the lead role, not like in Stomp the Yard,so y'all can chill. And for the person who said his breathe smells like goat milk or cheeze, man sit yo f*cking ass down! How ya gonna know what his breathe smells like you haven't even been at least a km near the guy.And everyone should go out to see the movie to support our Black actors. We are a huge family(Black communtity) and it is my honor to go and watch it in theatres*not bootleg*.
@msbhaving4ever...If we keep buying movies on bootleg, Hollywood won't have anything to steal, because they will stop making black movies. Don't get me wrong, I love a clear bootleg, but I do go pay for the movie in the theater. A lot of the actors money is included in the gross receipts of the movie. So if you don't pay to see if they don't get paid. Once they leave the theater it's a wrap because video rental ,and bootlegs are going straight back to the studio that makes them. Why do you think TYLER's not too pissed about bootleggers, and his are so clear ?...cause he's helping to put them out there.
