: MediaTakeOut.com just got wind that Kanye West is set to give a massive star-studded concert this Thursday. The concert, which is scheduled to take place in London's O2 on Thanksgiving Day is said to have a number of star acts on the under card. So far, MediaTakeOut.com is being told that John Legend has already signed on.
And word is that Jay Z will likely be there. And we're also hearing rumblings that Beyonce may be there also....
Its not about the money "Partylike" it about getting your mind off it cus the holiday are around. YOu will go crazy just sitting in the room and just thinking. Esp how she died. When my father died i when to work 2 days after the funeral. Yes i broke down but at least i was not alone. it is not about the money. Her b-day just pass, thanksgiving, x-mas and new year. He want his fan around him to think about something else
I feel bad for Kanye. I'm sure he's doing this because grieving is too painful. He's surrounding himself around people. I hope this concert turns out well for him & that in his quiet time, when there is nobody around, he'll be surrounded with God's love..Because it's in those quiet times that grieving is the hardest. *Hugs Kanye*
Maybe touring and being around his fans is therapy for him...he knows what is best for him at this moment. Sitting at home doing nothing only makes u go into deeper depression so he needs to be around people. Kanye baby do what you want to do to make it better for you. Do what your mother would have wanted you to do. GOD got you so you will be fine. Stay strong!

Like he says: We cant tell him NOTHING,he wil deal with this the way he wants to and thats his right. We dont need to judge or express our opinion bout this cuz this is soo personal,to each their own
It isin't about money. It's about him wanting to give thanks to his moms for making him the man he is. It's about him wanting to give thanks to God for giving him the talent of which to spiritually move the world, it's about giving thanks to the fans for havin' his back throughout all this. It's about saying thanks that he has an understanding of the Godforce to feel his presence in order to give thanks.....You go, my brother.
Well I'm with you Kanye if you feel you can pursue that event. Personally I think he shouldn't do it because there's so much hurt in his heart right now, there's a possibility he may break down again....and he needs to be strong to be put in a situation like that. But who knows his recent breakdown on stage probably gave him enough courage to go ahead and put on a performance so big ups to you West.
Stay Strong Kanye your fellow midwest people are here for you. I am sad to hear about this. He is such a phenomenal artist and his mother really molded him into a great person. So many people dont understand you but it's a midwest thang. Its our swagger. I pray that you make it through this and always remember God is with you. No one can replace your mother but just think of it as the Goodlife for her becasue she is in a better resting place. Much love Syreeta J one of Midwest finest!!!
So for all the people that think he is selfish and it's just about the money.
First: He Personally doesn't need the money. He can afford to sit at home and just chill for all of 2008.
However, I am sure that everyone who works on the tour doesn't have that luxury. All the roadies, all the workers at the stadiums. If he were to cancel his tour - think about how many people would be unemployed or "coming up short".
I applaud him. That through all of this - he can still see the big picture. All the people that work for him and for the stadiums and the vendors. No one once to come up SHORT at Christmas.
Everyone - please PRAY for him. Pray also for the easy passing of his mother. I am sure that the spirit of Dr. Donda West would like some peace.
"no one wants to come up Short."
It takes a lot of maturity for someone to realize how many people are depending on him. Regardless of what anyone says, Kanye, is light years beyond anyone in the business currently. That is a reflection of what an outstanding job Dr. Donda West did with her son.
Peace to everyone on Thanksgiving!
First, it's tacky to comment on how this man should deal wtih his mother's death. Everyone deals with death in their own way.
Second, MTO you all should be ashamed of how obsesed with Beyonce you are... "And word is that Jay Z will likely be there. And we're also hearing rumblings that Beyonce may be there also.... " Fuc Jay Z and Beyonce
After commenting in another thread that Kanye should take some time off, I have to admit that yes, everyone handles grief in different ways...if performing is what is helping him cope with his loss, then that is what he should do. Keeping busy is probably very theraputic for him, so do what you need to do, Kanye.
I had a friend who lost his mother several years back and two days after her funeral, he was out partying at a club...he said that staying at home crying was not going to bring her back and this is what he needed to do to try to cope with her death. However, I still felt that he wasn't quite ready to be out and about because all he did that night was get pissy drunk to try to forget. It broke my heart to see him like that.
And MTO, PLEASE quit bringing up Beyonce in everything. It's enough that this media hog is being shoved down our throats every time you turn around. This thread is about Kanye, not tired ass Beyonce so please give it a rest.
when my mother died i found it better for me to to surround myself with people and keep busy other wise i was crying every second we all must grieve in our own way. no one can tell you how to grieve. when i saw the video today i thought of my mother and started to cry i had to shut it down, rest in peace my sister
What you folks don't seem to understand is how REAL business OPERATES! If you sign a contract to do something for someone you CAN'T NOT SHOW UP because your mom dies! Although it may be a TRAGIC situation for YOU (the key word is YOU) the contracted job must still be performed or he will have more problems on his hands! (i.e.LAWSUITS) I sympathize with his situation (I lost my mom when I was 23) but look @ it from another perspective ... everyone that planned a vacation to London and bought his EXPENSIVE tickets to see the show for the holidays may feel differently!
ok I dont comment often I try not to feed in and watch the news and or online but I felt bad not only for kanye but for the relationship he and his mother shared.I feel bad becaue my thinking is that main stream media ei.MTO make pressures on females to be smaller and thinner and look a certain way when u have a certain amount of money and I think thats just wrong I have thought of surgery but no amount of money would repare fuked upself system and the lost of a parent so 100th or 101 but kanye wins always come with alost and mto you guys need to be more mindful of what you say about whom cause look at trina and little kim ...they looked fine b4 hollyhood because thats all they will ever be...roses kanye....roses R.I.P MS.WEST let this be a lesson 4sum and a warning 4 all www.myspace.com/therealcaress
People grieve in different ways. Everyone knows how much he loved his mother & visa versa. Money I don't believe is an issue, because I believe that he would turn in every cent to have his mother back. Let Kanye do Kanye because no one but him knows what he's going through. So for every one reading this comment; think about the person or persons in your life that you really love and can't imagine anything happening to. God forbid, if something were to happen to them, how would you feel & how would you deal with it. Just say a prayer for him & his family!
@ partylikea rocksta its not fair 4 u to say tht hez saddening hz mum spirit or tht he loves money so much, come on nw we al knw he rily dnt need the $ ryt nw. it aint evn abt tht, different people grieve in different ways. maybe ryt now he needs his fans as well as the peoplle he tours with since he considers them to be his family. as for his fans, we def gn show n giv him love wen hez onstage.so best we can do is show love and pray for him its js so sad, we prayin 4 u kanye...
Kanye is doing what he feels he needs to do. He just publicly gave a statement saying he has nothing to go home to and would rather be working right now. At the same time, he did a tribute in song to his mother. Keep him in your prayers and wish him the best as he continuies with his prior engagements.
Kanye needs to greive the way that is best for HIM not everybody else. When my cousin was killed in a car accident my aunt went through a period of denial where she kept busy doing things to keep her mind off of her pain. We just continued to be there to support her but we had to let her grieve and that is just what Kanye's people need to do. Kanye said in his tribute to his mom, that he had no reason to be home, hell his reason for going home is gone. Especially now during the holidays, it is just sooo sad. He needs to be around things that are going to distract him but also allow him to talk about how he feels. That's the wonderful thing about being an artist you can express yourself through you music and that is therapy as well. I will keep him in my prayers!!!!
