Well I think the only reason Latifah hasn't came out yet is because she thinks that "White Hollywood" won't accept her. Same goes for Alicia Keys. They're both just scared of being rejected. Ellen Degeneres is accepteed by 'Hollyweird" more easy because she's still at the end of the day white. Can't be mad at the woman either for not wanting to come out or confirm anything sooner. C'mon now we all know that if she came out sooner she would have gotten nothing but movie roles like her character Cleo from her movie Set It Off. She knew it would have been to risky to come out at search an early stage in her acting career. With as many people in Hollywood that date/marry everyone from their hair stylists to their managers, why do people think that this woman can't be her trainer AND her woman? I have seen many pics of these 2 together, describing them as a couple. Sorry to burst bubbles, but Queen Latifah is gay and so what? In addition to "Ladies First" and Set It Off, she did a "skit" on Mad TV a few years ago where she was sitting with a dude at a table and told him with a straight face that she is a lesbian and isn't interested in dating men. It's supposed to be a comedy show, but that seemed like the closest thing that she had ever done towards coming out. My boyfriend (I'm a woman) saw it with me and he thought the same thing - he also knew way before I did that La is gay. Also, her character in Chicago, Momma, is gay too. These are just roles and she is supposed to be acting, so you can write it off as that, but she also does straight roles and that is acting too. I think the fact that she has made a point to take on so many gay roles has been her subtle way of reaching out to her community without being direct. I think she has less to worry about from "white" Hollywood rejecting her than from her black fanbase, based on comments here alone (I am black, but also educated and open-minded). I think it is more Christian to love your fellow man (even if you don't love all his choices) and leave the judgment to the higher power because people in glass houses shouldn't cast stones - none of us are perfect.
