: MediaTakeOut.com got a hold of a recent interview that Tameka Foster gave to Essence magazine. In it, Tameka blasts Black women for their criticism of her marriage to Usher. Here are Tameka's exact words:
We (black women) don't like ourselves. If I were Hispanic, Usher would have the sexiest wife alive. If I were mixed, he'd have the sexiest wife alive. But he has a black girl, and it's like, 'She's horrible and she's ugly!'And here's what Foster has to say about the media coverage of her relationship with Usher:.OK, maybe I don't fit the cookie-cutter standard - 25 and a size two - but this is who he loves.
"There are women getting raped in Darfur, young girls being turned out every single day right here in Atlanta. We have bigger issues to worry about than two people in love with each other."

Is she serious, The reason why people criticize her relationship wiht usher is because she's a nasty person with a nasty personality. I kinda agree with you about the whole dating Chili thing was fine but you have to admit that Temeka was the thorn in Usher's side! Who do you think was the counselor with him and Chili? She was his stylist, so there had to be times when they were out shopping doing whatever and he needed somebody to talk to right then and there she was right there giving advice because chilli was an "Older woman" and Tameka is an "Older woman" as well, so she would know exactly what to say and do in whatever drama Usher was having! And Usher is sensitive and Tameka played on that and dove right in for the kill! But it is true most times when our black sisters hate on each other.... tameka isn't ugly. but (and i'm glad they posted that picture) she does look old enough to be his mother. that black eyeshadow she wears in her crease really ages her and just isn't cute. it doesn't look like makeup, it looks as if she hasn't slept in weeks.
usher is an INTERNATIONAL star. we as black people make up a small percentage of his fans. so she can woman up and be honest that usher's lack of a career is based on the bad publicity surrounding her. i've seen horrible comments about her on non-black sites. so tameka, if u're reading, we know you are, get a grip on reality hon. i think your complexion is beautiful along with your smile. your past is nothing to brag about.
I partly agree with Tameka. There is so much racism within the black race and some black people do still believe that "light is right". Tameka is the average looking black woman and Usher fell for her. And, as far as Usher's mom not liking her, that's a family issue and none of us know the "whole story" so to try to comment on that is unfair. There are 3 sides to every story. Let Usher and Tameka be. They seem happy and at peace with each other. Go work on your own relationship and leave theirs alone!
when he was dating chilli, folks complained that she was too old and had a kid also. it's easy to say everyone loved her in hindsight, but there was drama there also. remember, usher wasn't so well-liked the way he blasted chilli and her son in the confessions remix. then he used them to catapult that album into major sales.

Chilli may have been dark, but Chilli is biracial, so that gives her the "Light-Skinned Pass". If a person is dark, but their hair is long, a straight or wavy texture or light eyes, they are given the pass.

Then, there is dark like Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Chilli, Tatyana Ali, Kim Porter, Sharon Leal, Regina King, Vivica Fox and Stacey Dash. These women are given the pass and society doesn't hold them to the same dark-skinned criticism they hold to other dark women.

None of us knows for sure the nature of their relationship but time will tell. We can only look at history and historically Most relationships where there is a drastically older partner tend to fail. You know, before this article was posted I had a long discussion with my friends about the image of us as women. I was saddened after reading the negative comments about Usher's wife and baby's picture. I have to say what Mrs. Raymond has said is to true to a very high degree. We often talk about how we're so sick and tired of celebrities (Brothas) getting these light skinned, mixed, or white women. Now, that a brother has chosen a black woman, things just seem to be all wrong. I read some of the comments about Usher's baby and some of the people went as far to say: "Get a paternity test" or "the baby and the mother were ugly." It saddens me to even repeat this nonsense. It led me to ask if she was of lighter complexion would she still be considered ugly and get such bad publicity from the media. If she was of European descent would anyone hollar "Quick get a paternity test." Would this make the baby more "beautiful" or "handsome" Or maybe, it's her name: Tameka a unique name that many African American women have. Regardless, I have concluded that we as black women need to uplift each other, because there is so much out there against us already. It is time for us to affirm. I know that some of the remarks made by ms. foster was not very tactful; however, with so many negative comments as these could you blame her. And you have to give her credit, the sistah was a model and looked very good to have three kids. She has a beautiful chocalate complexion (which is something taht I love about my black race, we are the only people that has a variety of complexions and look so good). And she pulled a younger man which is something that Demi Moore has done with Ashton Kutcher, and she HAS KIDS. But no one is calling her ugly or a any other harsh name you can think of. If anything, the media praised her. It just so happend that a sistah did the same thing, but in this was criticized as usual. If you're hispanic then you should be able to speak on your own people(s) issues with skin color. Here's a another tip: Many men will say what sounds good to you to get what they want. I wouldnt say black women hate on her because shes dark skinned but there are some of us who are hating on her and its so not necessary. This man is happy with her, he loves her enough to have him bear his child, I think that says enough. Shes also being hated on because of her age and shes the same age if not close in age as Chilli so whats the problem? Get a life losers and let these people live!
