I find it interesting that you called the comments about the light skinned thing "blazay blah" First let me say I'm a straight black man that works at one of the top financial institutions in the world. I was fortunate enough to be given a chance to excel at my firm over the past 6 years to become a svp before the age of 30. I know many brothas who judge women by complexion. The "light is right" mind frame is very real. U seemed to be a little offended by it but is very common. I have many friends who have successful carrers that won't give a darkskined sister a chance. If they marry a sister she is very light. Some marry latin women that look exotic or pale enough to pass for white. It is a well known fact that not only celebrities but many brothers that attain a certain level of success think marrying a white or light black woman is a sign of success. I don't have a preference light skined, caramel, dark, but I did marry a black woman! I have 3 year old twin daughters and I'm afraid for them because the images we see today either do not mirror the way they look and/or are not positive. Having said all of that I'm happy for usher & his wife. It's good to see black love. Also good to see people getting married! Something we need to see more of in our community. I find it interesting that you called the comments about the light skinned thing "blazay blah" First let me say I'm a straight black man that works at one of the top financial institutions in the world. I was fortunate enough to be given a chance to excel at my firm over the past 6 years to become a svp before the age of 30. I know many brothas who judge women by complexion. The "light is right" mind frame is very real. U seemed to be a little offended by it but is very common. I have many friends who have successful carrers that won't give a darkskined sister a chance. If they marry a sister she is very light. Some marry latin women that look exotic or pale enough to pass for white. It is a well known fact that not only celebrities but many brothers that attain a certain level of success think marrying a white or light black woman is a sign of success. I don't have a preference light skined, caramel, dark, but I did marry a black woman! I have 3 year old twin daughters and I'm afraid for them because the images we see today either do not mirror the way they look and/or are not positive. Having said all of that I'm happy for usher & his wife. It's good to see black love. Also good to see people getting married! Something we need to see more of in our community. We should stop settling for being "baby mamas & daddys" and become husbands & wives

I don't understand all of this dark skinned, light-skinned crap and it's really ridiculous. First of all most of us light-skinned women age just like white wome, so I'm not understanding why light-skin is so great. Some of the most beautiful women are dark-skinned: Cicely tyson, Janet hubert-Whitten, even Gabrielle Union, shoot, at least their skin tone is even, my skin is three different tones.
