Even though I don't like Beyonce as a person or an artist, I really admire how you complemented both women, that's real talk and real maturity. You know how society tries to trick and trap us women into that downward spiral of competition by trying to make us believe "there can only be one". I just really like what you said about both of them.
As for Rihanna passing Beyonce in these sales and becoming the new R&B queen, neither one of them are R&B and if they were, Beyonce was NOT the queen. Rihanna, Beyonce, Mariah, Leona Lewis, Destiny's Child, TLC, Janet Jackson are all considered Contemporary Pop. Alicia, Mary, Ashanti, Ciara, Keyshia Cole are all considered Contemporary R&B. So neither lady is the "Queen of R&B". But I am defintely proud of Rihanna. She re-released GGGB and that's what made her surpass Beyonce??? Well, think back. Beyonce re-released B'Day. As far as worldwide album sales, Beyonce has not topped 100 million. That's a lie she had the announce say at the start of her B'Day tour and it has stuck ever since. Janet has not sold 100 million. The only Black female artist that has is, if you consider her Black because I surely don't, is Mariah Carey. Go to wikipedia dot org and look up Beyonce. Add up all the worldwide album sales, including Destiny's Child, and it STILL won't add up to 100 million. Celine Dion, Madonna, Mariah Carey have sold over 100 million. I happen to have both albums and I disagree with you, every track on B Day was jammin and she also had videos for them as well....B Day was put together in less than 3 mos so I think she did pretty good with that cd, and the only track jammin on GGGB is Umbrella, the rest of it aint wassup! So sorry, back to the drawing board with that one.

Let's get this straight. Rihanna may be the Queen of kiddie pop, but R&B? Please.....I'm still trying to figure out exactly when she has sung R&B? At least Beyonce has done that!
And I feel it's sad how Rihanna totally abandoned her reggae sound that she started with, just to sing pop music to draw in a larger (whiter) audience. But I'm sure her record company played a part in that, so I won't fault her. It's all about sales, after all.
Let's see if she'll be around in 10 years to still have this supposed title of Queen of R&B. I highly doubt it.
To me, quality is more important than quantity. The number of record sales does not constitute a great artist. It's all about the quality of their work.
For instance, Mary J's music is quality, and has been for over 15 years. She earned her title as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, and that title ain't going away. No, she doesn't have the record sales of a Beyonce or Rihanna, or even Mariah Carey for that matter. But she is still a quality artist who cares more about making good music than about warping her image around and trying to be Miss Do It All. Mary is true to herself and her music, and that's why she's my fave. Alot of these youngstas could stand to learn from her.
So Rhi Rhi better enjoy the spotlight while it's lasting. Because if not already, people will be tired of her and will be looking for the new 'it' girl. It happened to Bey, so it can easily happen to her. It's a never ending cycle.

And this nullifies all gripes about her supposed inability to sing and dance because it would mean saying, by extension, that Madonna and Britney CAN blow.
