I was there and although I didnt attend for Lil Wayne, I found it very disrespectful that he never showed up. The whole concert was unorganized and they stalled for over an hour, although Jay Z did his thing; there were a lot of people who wanted to see Weezy. The crowd was shouting and everything. If he keeps doing that, he will lose all his fans and be a has been. Whether he is on drugs or not he had a contract and when he doesn't show up that is disrespectful to the radio station and his fans. The story is true...I know a few people who went to that show...For all intents and purposes he shyt on his fans by not being ready to perform...And he shyt on the radio station (As WACK a station as it is) who spent the whole damn week hyping him up all over the city...
You have to give credit to Jay for stepping up, showing the type of professionalism that Wayne knows nothing about, and delivering an amazing set, and going extra time to try to cover for his absence...
I agree with some posters....I do not see what people see in this pathetic junkie...I don't get the appeal of his music or of him as a person...I don't give a damn how much money he allegedly has or has made, if he doesn't get his junkie ass to rehab he's going to join Amy Winehouse pushing up daisies. |

If Weezy wants to be high, I say that's his life to live (don't know what kind of high he was on though?). That being said, you should be able to hold up to your obligations if you're being contractually paid for it. If you like getting high, make sure you can perform high. i.e., Cypress Hill, Redman, to name a couple. Some artists forget the reason they are where they are is because of the FANS who BUY their product. You don't want to let them down. Personally, I like to "put one up" but I hold my word on my obligations. |
