I'm an absolute HUGE Aaliyah fan... Always have been and always will be. I'm all about keepin' her memory and legacy alive, but this is too much. Ciara will make an absolute MOCKERY of anything that has Aaliyah's name on it. I'm not saying that Aaliyah was a "powerhouse" singer, but she had a beautiful voice. It was soft and it always complimented whatever beats that accompanied it. She just had that IT factor... Ciara can NEVER have that, achieve that or even emulate it... No matter how hard she tries. That RHYTHMIC TALKING that Ciara does is NOT singing. And, IMO, Ciara was NOT a better dancer that Aaliyah. Like, someone else said, Ciara's dancing is equivalent to that of a stripper.. I hope this is not true; if it is, Ciara needs to fall back! She has been trying to be "the new" Aaliyah, when she will never be as good as she was, even on her best day. It would be a nice tribute/duet, but I just wish it was somebody else doing it.

I think it may be okay...as one of Aaliyah's biggest fans,(Detroit!!!) I know she wouldn't want all of this negativity pushed on Ciara, because Ciara's just trying to make her path like Aaliyah had to do...I think Aaliyah's style was always different, she didn't really mature into a young woman with the dresses and thangs until a little before her death, but she remained true to herself, her image, and her craft, never sleazy or slutty, and Ciara is holding fast to the same principles. I guess people feel like you have to be all hollerin and screamin like other singers to be considered a "great singer", but to hear Aaliyah sing acapella, her voice was beautiful..not the strongest, no, but she had vocal training, believe that.
