People dont realize how many of their friends have genital herpes, whether their friends no they have it or not. Its one of the STD's that lay dormant in your system for years and might not pop up until something happens to you like stress. I know alot of people that only get AIDS tests, not std tests.
Ummmm, I don't care for Michael Vick. But a family pic would be nice, so we can know for sure that these are his kin. And if they are.... @sbw-some are women and one is a guy who got it from his wife cuz she had an affair on him and contracted from the other guy. My older friend had stopped getting them cuz she stated she was in a committed relationship and didnt need them, her call not mine. I go every 6 months and I get a std test once a year.
I no for them they were scared to say anything, yes you have to tell your mate because you can pass it on to them but they didnt want to tell their friends because they were scared they would judge them. These are people that are no whores, I know all of the women since childhood and they were all in long term relationships and they guy was sleeping with other women and thats how they contacted it. But I agree that if you dont get std tests done at least once a year then you are crazy.

strong black woman get in the know a pap smear is a check for abnormal cells on the cervix...specifically cancer. bacterial screens must be done seperately like those for GC and CT. Herpes is an entirely different animal. No foll proff swab for that. and their is no standardized implementation. you have to have a blood test for HSV 2 specifically. Have you had yours??
@ andrice - yes in order for you to see if you have herpes you have to get a blood test and if you are having an outbreak then the doctor can take a sample of that outbreak and do an analysis on it to see if you have it or not. I know most of my friends dont get the herpes blood test, they get the AIDS test. Trust me I know alot of people that probable have it but dont know they have it because they dont get the test done, its really scary.
First of let me say that I have herpes...got it from my husband (before we were married) and it's really no big deal. Neither of us has ever had an outbreak and because we are monogomous we do not have to take any medication. Almost everyone has some strain of herpes virus...whether it's genital herpes or not. We need to get real and stop judging each other.
As for this chick up here half naked with her kids - she looks like a pure groupie chick to me - but then again - there I go judging a book by it's cover lol.

Andrice, I couldnt believe that numnber till I actually googled it mysself to be sure. But its true. Almost 50% of black adults have the herpes virus. Me and my wife DONT have it, and I'm glad about that. I'd hate to be single right now. I mean, how many unmarried folk actually make their partner get an aids and herpes test before they have sex? not too many And even condoms dont prevent herpes, which a lot of people dont know.
Imthebest that's very brave for you to tell your story....most people would be totally embarassed by letting anyone know about their medical conditions relating to STD's. I commend you and it's nice to put some folks mind at ease....but if you don't want to encounter any of these diseases ...the best way is ABSTINENCE folks.
umm i dont believe that shyt the person holding the baby has a tat on their hand last time i saw vick in the media he didnt have one nor did anyone mention he had kids (im in va and he was in the paper like errrday. besides he has two sisters and a brother that could be the parent. and yes he does have genital herpes so i dont know who willingly wants that.... otherwise he's a fine black man :-)
I don't know what kind of herpes Mike V had but for those people talking like he the nastiest person on earth need a reality check. You can get herpes by kissing, sharing make up (lip stick, lip gloss, lip liner ect)drinking behind people.
Genital herpes dosn't always show in the form of a breakout so asked to be tested for everything!

Turns out, Michael Vick and his wife Kijafa have done nothing but work for the poor of Philadelphia for the past half a year. No joke. I heard a story where Kijafa saw a little girl without a coat and proper clothes come into the salon where she was getting her hair done, and Kijafa went to her car and gave her her own daughter's clothes. Then she sponsored some charity event and brought in the dough. This is serious Ghandi isht. These two are completely different people and we all just better shut the hell up or face the wrath of God.
The newborn is absolutely adorable and the other child is cute too. Even though at first I almost hated Mike Vick for what he did to those dogs, I have since forgiven him and I hope that his second chance at his football career is successful. I also have a newfound respect for Michael Vick because he chose Black love and have two beautiful "Black" children. He didn't become a sellout.
