Would you give her story the time of day if she wasn't the mother of a mutlimillionare. What about ALL of the other people who have lost there mothers in the world? Don't see them EVERYDAY on your website.:--( Okay, enough is enough she died, gone, never to return and most of all she did it to herself. This is a very touching video, and I was feeling every word. I've not lost my parents, but I have lost people close to me and the one thing I hate is when others try to tell me how to greive. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE deals with pain diffrently, AND no other person can tell you what's right and wrong about how you're dealing. I don't know what I would have done in Kanye's situation, all I can say is that you have to allow the griever to grieve in the way that they see fit for themselves. I know Kanye will never read these words, so I'll just say I wish him, his family and friends the very best. There's nothing worse than loosing a loved one, especially when it's sudden with no warning. God Bless.
P.S
I know I'm commenting like everyone else, but I must say I wish that all the sites would just let Dr. West rest in peace without all the stories. The Dr. that did her surgery will be on Larry King tonight (Tuesday 20th). Every site has something posted about how Kanye is doing I just feel they should be respected and left alone. This is my last time ever commenting on this topic. |

I watched some performance that Kanye was doing this past weekend on VH1 Soul and his mother was in the front row rapping with him on every song and it was very touching. I cannot imagine what he must be going through right now. Everyday is a day to celebrate family but this time of year is different and this no doubt will forever change him. My prayers are with Kanye and his family. Grieve in whatever way that makes you feel as good as you can. No one can tell him what that way is. |

The fact that Kanye West is a very visible and popular entertainer makes his mother's sudden death more media worthy. It doesn't take away from others who have lost their parents or loved ones, it's just that anything or anyone related to Kanye West is going to draw the media's attention.
Dr. West's death was unfortunate but certainly not predicted. I'm willling to bet that they advised her of the "possible" risks for surgery and ANY surgery is a risk, but I don't believe that either Dr. told her she would die from the surgery! If they did I'm sure she would have opted not to have the it. |

The thing you don't know is that Dr. Donda West was a SUPERSTAR in her field. She was in college working on a PhD at 27 years old. And was head of the English Department at a University - that was not an easy task.
Not a lot of people knew much about Kanye's mother and that was by design.
Don't get it twisted. You asked would all this hoopla be made if it wasn't Kanye's mother? Probably not non-stop 24//7 coverage - but her death would have made the front page of millions of newspapers. Dr. West was well known and well liked.

To all those who feel that it is over kill to keep talking about Kanye's mother's recent passing let me just say a few things....
Kanye is a mega star and is very much a part of pop culture so his mother's passing last week will be news. If you were famous and your mother passed away it would be big news as well, especially if she played as close of a role in your career as Kanye's mom did. Imagine if something happened to Beyonce's mom (I shutter to think) but really, it would be even more news because of who Beyonce is and what her mom meant to her and her career.
Kanye's mother died after having plastic surgery which again is news, because so many folks in our culture are opting to get surgery and really don't realize that there are risks that come along with it like any major surgery. If anything it is bringing this issue to the forefront and folks are talking about it.
Lastly, Kanye is showing that even after losing his best friend, his sweetheart , his mother, he can be strong and go on, because that is what she would want. Maybe just maybe he can give someone else hope thathas lost someone that they can make it through that fire.
Just a few things to think about, everything does not have to ALWAYS be sooooo negative.
