I don't think this is the whole story even if it's halfway true. First of all, when an artist is as big as Beyonce and Neyo, they have lawyers that get paid to work out situations like this. There are a lot of artist that start out working on a project together, but can't release the single because of legalities.
By the way, if a person takes a written song and put together the melodies and arrangements, they are just as responsible for making it a hit as the writer. If someone else would've gotten the song, even Neyo himself, it wouldn't have sounded the same; thus maybe it wouldn't have been the hit that it was. |

You know it's funny that people like the chick you're arguing with are constantly running words like, "you's a hater..." into the ground every time you disagree with them. I'm sure this chick doesn't love everyone in the world. With that being said, I guess she's a "hater" as well.
As for Beyonce, you're right. There are tons of other black women who can sing and dance too. The only difference is, they don't have a "Daddy Warbucks" feeding money to people every time they want to be in the spotlight. Beyonce is a glory hog. When LeToya Luckett's CD came out, what did Beyonce do? She RE RELEASED her B-Day album, showing people, "she won't outsell me." When Jennifer Hudson got all that press from 'Dreamgirls,' even though Beyonce thought she was picked to be the star, what did she do? She gave the most ignorant statement, "I'm already a star...I got 9 Grammy's." Yeah, but b!tch do you have an Oscar? LOL So Beyonce, is in essence, a damn hater herself.
Lastly, here are some things that makes us slightly better than Beyonce.
1. I don't pay a make-up artist thousands of dollars to make me look like a store front hooker. Beyonce does though. Just give me a $5 tube of lipstick from my local drugstore and I'm all good.
2. My hair is naturally long. I have NEVER worn weaves or wigs. But I bet Beyonce does.
3. I'm educated. I bet Beyonce isn't.
4. Even though I'm married to an ex Navy/firefighter, I STILL attract other men. These men are not thugs. They're usually men who are well established, educated, and have excellent paying jobs. Hmm, Beyonce only seems to attract thugsters, gangstas, potential baby daddy's, and men who believe that the word "b|tch" and "ho" best describes black women. So judging from everything I have covered thus far, who in their right mind would be "hating" on this kind of woman? Personally, I love my life. I'm a motivational speaker, and an author. See, I motivate young women to use their brains as opposed to their ass. A morally upstanding man will take you more seriously when you don't use booty to conceal the fact that you don't have brains. I don't understand why black women feel the need to strip, pole dance, etc., in order to look and/or feel beautiful. Everyone got mad when Beyonce's outfit at the BET Awards was referred to as "RoboHo." Gee, if it looks like a ho, acts like a ho, grinds on poles, etc....then it's a ho. But for some reason, Beyonce's psyche is unable to grasp the fact that you're treated in the fashion in which you present yourself.
BTW...I question who wrote the lyrics to "Flaws & All." That song sounds like something a well educated person wrote. As for this story overall, who knows if she really wrote Irreplaceable? I mean, there are such things as Ghostwriters in the industry. For all we know, she may not have ever written a song in her life, because with a ghostwriter, the artist takes the credit....NOT the ghostwriter. |

That's not neccessarily true unless it's stated in their contracts.
If someone's a plumber and works for a company, but agree to do your plumbing on the side and you enter a verbal contract, it has nothing to do with the company the person works for.
Unless like I stated their contract forbids them from doing "side work" for profit.
More details are needed because the only question becomes who has rights to the music, did he do it as a friend with an understanding as stated but let her have rights to the song?? Or does he own the rights, but the specifics of the origins of the song weren't ironed out with the record company and she just won't pay him back by simply being on his album?
That would take liablity away from the record company and he would have to personally sue. Because he did not go through them but went through her., they simply backed the song without knowing the details, between two "friends". |
