Though I thought his thick black hair was beautiful when it was longer, he's getting older now and perhaps wanted a more sophisticated look...
HOWEVER, I can't stand when brothas go shorter but don't keep their "edges" tapered and/or faded. That wooly-fuzzy sh*t around the neck and ears has GOT TO GO.
i think he looks fine- hes getting older..dauyym thats the problem now all these grown azz men walking around w/ saggy pants and braids in their hair- GROW UP! FINALLY he cut the braids off- he just looks like he needs a little shape up. MARIO TEACH THIS DUDES HOW TO GROW UP!!!!!!!*and hes younger than all of them)

Some of you ppl are clueless. I'm reading all of these comments about, "if you're over 25, then you shouldn't rock braids," or ignorant things like, "he's getting his 'GROWN MAN' on..." or better yet, "braids are played out" (!) Do some of y'all hear yourselves??? We are ALL INDIVIDIUALS... which means, everyone has a different way of expressing themselves. The comment that irks me the most is this "no braids over 25 b.s."... I'm 27 and I'll do as I damn well please. Quite honestly, I've NEVER had a problem gettin' a job. I've been in Finance and at some major financial institutes over the years. I've had braids on & off since I was about 18. Is the look played out? quite possibly... and that's b/c EVERYONE & THEIR MAMAS wanted conrows at the start of the millenium... but if braids are played out, then so is the corny a$$ ceasar. There are MORE ppl who rock low cuts, than wear their hair long. Not everyone has the head shape for 'low cuts'. I REFUSE to cut my hair low just b/c everyone else has. Notice the trend. Everyone wanted braids at one point... NOW everyone is cutting their hair off all at once. No one leads anymore. Everyone follows. Once Busta did it, here comes Luda, Bow Wow, Jermaine O'neal (NBA) Richard Hamilton (NBA), Romeo, Trey Songz, Omarion... probably plenty more that I am forgetting. Some of these guys NEEDED hair on their heads.. and some of them actually sporting the look very well. But who's to say that 'low cuts' equals "grown man???" Let me tell you somethin', cats w/ long hair put in more work trying to be crisp w/ their look. If anything, it is more sophisticated looking, than a typical fade. EVERYONE has a low cut... I liked to be distinguished... and braids/dreads do that. Now for the cats who wear dusty braids and never do much for them, those are the one's that need to cut it. Leave cats like R.Kelly, Iverson, Carmello Anthony.. let them be. Those dudes stay crisp. F all that small talk. Omarion rocked the look for probably 10yrs or so...maybe he got tired of it... but that hair was apart of his act as an R&B singer... just like Luda's and Busta's. I thought those were BAD decisions on their parts. Same for Bow Wow. But cut all this criticism about braids. It's dumb as hell. I STILL get the SAME amount of PUSS (if not more),w/ braids/dreads... So it has nothing to do w/ that. Instead of cats going STRAIGHT TO THE CEASAR, they should just chop it off and rock a mini fro... or chop it low enuff to dread...EVERYONE goes to the same look.
People need to take into account that the african-american race is THE ONLY race that let's others dictate what we should and should not do. Why is it that 'low cuts' equate to "grown man?"... Who determines that? Hispanics and whites have traditionally worn their hair long... yet and still, I never hear hispanic women asking their men to cut their hair. White men, w/ the spikey look, long hair, etc, have been accepted for YEARS. Blacks...?? the moment it becomes trendy, we start putting ages on when it should go away.. lol.. that amazes me. Latrell Sprewell and Allen Iverson made it trendy for NBA players and average joes to wear braids. THEY didn't ask us to follow... but we did... Now ppl are also saying that Iverson is gettin "too old" for the look. Who are WE to tell him that??? He's one of the few who made it cool... mainstream. Probably why the likes of Bow Wow, Omarion, Luda, all grew theirs. This was back in the mid 90's! I'm very passionate about this topic b/c I cannot stand ignorance and ONE-SIDED opinions. I do agree that braids at a certain age area no-no and that's when you have VISIBLE GREYS... or you just look TOO old for it, other than that? just look at it as long hair. Snoop gets away with it. Can you imagine SNOOP cuttin' his??? I can't! People wear dreads WAY into their 30's 40's and 50's. That's accepted, right? I've soured on the braid look (personally), but occasionally I go back and forth b/t that and twist.. and that's just what it is.
