: MediaTakeOut.com just got some startling news. In a recent interview with Sister Sister magazine, Fantasai Barrino revealed that she nearly lost her voice to a throat tumor. Fantasia claims that the tumor, which was non-cancerous, first developed during her time on the Broadway play The Color Purple.
Here's how Fantasia describes the tumor caused her to miss performances:
The tumor that was on my throat would make me very tired ... I kept telling them that I'm getting very tired. It was like I couldn't get enough sleep. And sometimes onstage, I could taste blood.I had braces on, so [I thought] maybe I'm biting my lip or I'm biting something in my gums or something. But I would taste blood every now and then.
And here's what happened when she got it removed:
I had to have a surgery. I had a tumor--he said it was a cyst, and before I went under the knife, he came out and told my mother--he said, "The joker was bigger than I thought it was ... ."But good news guys, Fantasia claims that she's completely recovered from the situation. Hopefully we'll be hearing her sing again soon.

What maybe considered ugly to some, may be considered beautiful to other. Fantasia is beautiful inside and out. Unfortunately the music industry has convinced some of you that looks is what counts, but the voice is what really counts and the girl is in a league of her own when it comes to that.

To those of you whosay here career is over and wonder where she has been my question to you is where have you been? She has worked all summer since completing a successful run on Broadsway check out Fan-tasia.net and see for yourselves. She has been busy and has been back and forth to LA several times as well. Let me add this the inside word from the industry in regards to producers Fantasia is called the one take wonder, this is rare and valuable commodity in the industry, you see some one like Fantasia can do movie soundtracks etc and save money..she can just sing and the producers can work the trac with out much labor, so this said she will be around for a while and many love to work with her. She has a lot of work recorded and she loves the studio she loves what she does and that means a lot..so hate on. God bless everyone but remeber it is not over for anyone until God says its over.

The last time I spoke with her she did say yo all have been a blessing to her,you have made her strong and full of confidence and not afraid of anything. She says you have to be tough in this industry and you can't wait for people to stroke you and those same people who always have good things to say time you mess up they will turn on you so she is use to your negativity but she says my haters don't live with me and as long as I have my family and little girl behind and with Gods help and love for me I can make it!!!
