It was caused by this previous relationship I was in (black man) who told me I was too hippy (I'm 5'8'' 125 pounds) and needed to lose weight (I guess- now that I am reflecting back- he wanted a Becky). That was some 10 years ago.
Now I'm in a serious relationship with a gorgeous Italian man (in looks and character) who treasures and admires me for me. He constantly praises my slim size 8 figure and loves my naturally long curly hair. I never felt soooo loved in the moment as I was when I met him.

But what gets my blood boiling is how we are stereotyped by "over-exaggerated" images in the media that reek of clownery and bafoonish cartoonery.
Look at the chick above...a so-called "video-model", showcasing her goods upclose as if her derriere is longer and wider than the night is long. You are very right that many sistahs can be curvy AND classy (ex: Michelle Obama), but the images that are distorted and force-fed to the public on a regular basis nowadays are beyond disturbing.

But if she was born with it, they hey, i DONT see a problem with embracing your curves, but there is a very fine line between tastefully embracing it and classlessly flaunting it.
Personally, even if I wanted to waste my money on me instead of making my daughter's life more comfortable, I would never buy an azz that large or even some zzz breats either.
