We're told the two bodies were found dead on the scene at 2:44 PM. When the fire department arrived and discovered the bodies were already dead, police were brought in and the home was declared a crime scene.
UPDATE 3 - Police suspect that the man who committed the murders is William Balfour - Jennifer's sister's husband. Balfour is NOT the father of the missing 7 year old. Balfour was taken into custody last night

Hudson's nephew reported missing
CHICAGO (WLS) -- The mother of singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson was one of two people found shot to death inside a home Friday.
Police have confirmed Hudson's mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, is one of the deceased. The home where the bodies were discovered is at 7019 S. Yale in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. Property records indicate the home belongs to Donerson.
The other victim has been identified as Jennifer Hudson's brother Jason Hudson. A search is under way for a young boy who is missing from the home. A child, possibly Jennifer Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, is missing, according to sources. Police are searching for an SUV that was seen in the area, a 1994 white Suburban, Illinois license plate number X584859.
Chicago police are now searching for a man and boy, believed to be driving on the North Side. The man is known as “William,” has braids in his hair, and is driving a 1994 Chevy, according to police scanner traffic. The 7-year-old, known as Julian, is wearing a tan jersey with the number 5 on it, and tan slacks.
The shooting is believed to be domestic.

This is a shame. I was just enjoying The Secret Life of Bees last week and thinking about how God has blessed Jennifer with a beautiful voice and so much talent. I recall her saying "Look what God can do?" after winning the Oscar.

Nine times out of ten her sister was getting ready to divorce him, therefore forcing him to move out of the home he shared with this family or there was a dispute over money. MYFOXCHICAGO REPORTS: Police sources have confirmed that William Balfour, the suspect in the shooting deaths of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother has been taken into police custody. However, Julian King, Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew who was taken from the murder scene, is still missing. Sources say Balfour has refused to provide information on King’s location. No charges have been filed. Craig Wall has the latest on the developing story.

Keeysha, I read on another site that the gun shots took place at 9am and police were called but the cops didn't come until around 3pm...They said gun shots are heard all the time in that area so they didn't respond immediately...WTF?! Their life could've been possibly saved but we will never know now...I hope once things get more settled Jennifer looks into filing a huge suit against them for responding several hours later...No ambulance or anything was called up until then...Just disgraceful...

My heart goes out to Ms.Hudson. I heard the news and it broke my heart, to loose your mother and brother that way is devastating. I heard that the brother-in-law did it over domestic issue. I pray for peace for Jennifer and the rest of her family. I hope they find the 7-year old boy safe. Jennifer needs time to morn and grief and then heal.
