Although they are only 2 years apart in age, Brandy and Beyonce come from two different era's. The singers in the 90's were classy and kept their clothes on. Eventhough Salt & Pepper had sexualized lyrics, they wouldn't be in a thong or even skimpy bekini's. It was different.
And Brandy came out in the early 90's with Aaliyah and Monica. All three girls were classy and had music that the young artist these days can't compare with. But to be clear she has sold 25million copies of her solo albums, the same as Beyonce;Brandy was the first of her age group to have dolls in her image, the cover girl contract, a tv show, movie soundtracks, asked to be on Quincy Jones classic album, and the movie deals. she was the "it" girl. she has done what they doing now already-so technically she only has to compete with herself, prove to herself she can still be relevant. However she's just dealing with the passing of the guard-there are other artists out that the public cling to. Rhianna (no offense to the die hard Beyonce fans) is #1 now. Beyonce is dealing with the same problems Usher has, as Brandy did when Full Moon and Dangerously in Love were released around the same time. Chris Brown and Rhianna have "de-throned" them. But stop the insanity, Brandy did not intentionally kill someone-to suggest it, is hurtful and ignorant. They all are successful in their own right and should be receiving support because they are in a dirty game. Some of you on here are too young to even be commenting about Brandy..Many people on here believe what they read and only like whatever is being promoted as popular..There are people that are only radio people..They are radio people because they listen to whatever is on the radio and thats it...There are so many real singers that don't make it to the radio or BET...There are some real r&b singers that only make it to VH1 or BET J...I like Beyonce's song "Single Ladies"...but I like music that has depth..most music that has depth is not promoted as well as the others...MTO if you want to knock Brandy like that it is very low class of you to do that..Personally you don't want me to break down lyrics of Brandy word for word and compare it to other singers...People are so superficial these days that real music sounds like garbage to them...Its also sad because it shows me that some of our people are so gullible when it comes to music...Just because something is on BET doesn't mean it should be supported...The more I come on sites like this the more frustrated I get..because people that are young now don't know what real music looks like and it doesn't matter to them either...People in their late twenties and older know what real music is..Its also sad that sites like this only promote what will make them look good...Everytime I say something against Beyonce someone curses me out on here and other places..Its not that serious..The world doesn't revolve around Beyonce and there was music before Beyonce..If I had more time I would give you a list of singers that were here before Beyonce... |
