The question is..."would a judge increase child support on a regular 9-5 working man who is on child support if he were to get a raise?" Most definitely..I agree that $25000 is excessive, but there is a simple solution for ALL of that. Go to court, file for joint custody and that way NO parent pays child support in particular..each person contributes to his or her child as needed. |

If she was a good mother and was putting the child first, she would've either put some of the extra money up for him(since it wasn't coming from her to begin with) or used it to invest in a business of her own or get herself a good education. @fire4u....I am taking the child into consideration wholeheartedly. My point of view is not centered on money, thus, the suggestion to file for joint custody and eliminate child support all together. If that were to happen, 50 could provide for his child on his behalf and she could provide for the child on hers. Everything could be split 50/50...that is how it should be anyway. I agree he should pay child support since he is not with her and he shares a child with her...but based on my suggestion, why would it not work if they were to split custody and each provide for this child dutifully? Or would she be able to do so in her situation? She would if she had a job. Co-parenting is NEVER a bad idea. |

And for your last comment, I know it is not true because I personally know a mother whose son decided he wanted to live with his father and the courts forced her to pay child support and it was a substantial amount because she made more money than the father. |

And no grown woman should be allowing a grown man to stay in her house if he can't bring in no money, but want to spend her child's child support money on him. She cheated herself. She had a good life, and a house. She wanted more for her and her bum ass boyfriend and the judge saw straight through her, and he cut her CS down by over 50%. That's what happens when you start being greedy instead of grateful.
You look at how many women who are doing it alone without ANY help. And this chick got a house and was getting $25,000 a month. There is no way in the world I could feel sorry for her...Not after me KNOWING that there are women out there that can't get 1% of that.
And even with the $6,700 the judge gave her, there are some people with husbands at home and working, and still aren't seeing that amount a month, before taxes are even taken out, and are able to provide a decent life for their child.
Shaniqua tried to be greedy listening to that man and her girlfriends talking about the state of NY said CS is supposed to be 17% of a man's income. No darling, in the state of NY, it's 17% up til a salary of %80,000. Fiddy far exceeds that amount, so the 17% law does not go for him. She let her dumb misinformed friends mess her out of a lot of money and a $2 mil home. That's what happens when you listen to a bunch of broke people who are trying to eat off you. |

Who wouldn't love to be able to sit at home all day and not have to worry about money? I am willing to bet that more than half of us would...However, you advised me to place emphasis on the child. That is exactly what I was doing in the first place. Is this about the money or the child? If this is about the money...then yes, he is obligated to provide for his child and you would hope that he would have plenty of decency to subject his child to the same lifestyle that he, himself, he is accustomed to. If is about the child....let's remove the money factor all together. If they both agreed to co-parent and both agreed to joint custody, each one would provide for the child equally. (Of course 50 could afford to do more because of his financial situation).I know that it would not work out that way for 50 with our justice system because of his socio-economic status. He would more than likely still be summoned to pay her something. More than likely it would be alot less than $25k/month. We should all hope that 50 would not have a problem providing for his child outside of any court obligation, whatsoever. I can see both parties sides of the fence when it comes to child support.If both people agree to do what they need to do in regards to their children and split responsibilties equally, child support wouldn never be an issue for anyone. |

Let's just remember that 'child support' is just that. Mothers need to limit their spending to the needs of the child which include, food, clothing, shelter, health and wellness support, school and other extracurricular necessities. This should also include some savings plan for the child's future. You never know how long the father is going to be in a position to do what he does. We know the lifetime of a rapper's career can easily be short-lived.
Some women tend to think 'child support' is also for THEM and use the money they receive unwisely. I hope Ms. Tompkins is smarter than that. Keep a level head and try not to be condescending or flip with the father. It's always best when parents can get along.

You explained that well. i agree with you in regards to the joint custody from that perspective. it is similar to the arrangement that I have. If my childs father became as rich as 50 and continued to do his part , i would have no problem with it.
However, if he lived lavious , while we continued to live average., i would have a problem with it. Because a good man's favor and wealth spills over into all who are apart of his heritage. And as the child's mother, the wealth will ultimately spill over to her because he shares both their seed.
she is the child's caretaker, foundation, and strength.
My understanding is that he was doing just that, and she got greedy? But at the end of the day, the child will need to maintain a stable lifestyle as well. Not that of a poor one with mommy, and a rich one with daddy. |

Fire4u, I understand having a soft spot for single mothers. Although I'm not one, I have a soft spot for them too. However Shaniqua's attitude comes off as if she feels "entitled" to his money. And she is not. I mean we can debate all day on whether he should of married her or not, but the point is, he didn't. So her attitude should be grateful to have a man put you in a multi-million home and paying you $25 grand a month on his own. And that's to take care of his son, you and your OTHER child. Just because he has it to give it, does not mean he should, especially being that she had other adults living in the house.

As working single moms we pay the utility bills, car notes, mortgage, child care,school fees, insurance, food and other day to day needs. We lump all of that into child support, because the child "lives" in the home.As a mother,we cannot go without lights and rent paid. THe phone needs to remain on, in case of an emergency. The lists goes on..
This is why child support laws were enacted. A father is missing from the "HOME". WE NEED HIS other HALF TO MAKE UP FOR THE NEEDS OF THE HOME..! not clothing and smaller things.

New York - 50 Cent has hinted he believes his ex-girlfriend started the fire which destroyed his £1.2m home earlier this year.
The US rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - refused to openly blame Shaniqua Tompkins for the blaze in May, but did confirm she was ordered to leave his home in Dix Hills, New York, just days before it was torched.
Speaking to Quddus Philippe, correspondent for US TV show TV One Access, 50 said: "The courts told her she had to leave. It's kind of more like, 'If I can't have you, you can't have it.' "
When Quddus asked the rapper if he believed his ex-lover lit the fire, he replied: "Well, I don't want to say that... don't try to make me say something I don't want to say. But, the circumstances to it might seem that way."
Six people, including 50 and Shaniqua's 10-year-old son Marquis, were rushed to hospital after the blaze.
Earlier in the year, Shaniqua had filed a lawsuit against 50 claiming he had promised her a house 10 years ago.
Days before the fire broke out, her lawyer Paul Catsandonis revealed the battle for the house had become "extremely, extremely contentious". It was reported the 33-year-old rapper tried to get his ex-lover evicted from the property following a heated argument.
In the wake of the incident, Shaniqua accused 50 of torching the house and trying to kill her and Marquis.
She said at the time: "He tried to kill me and his own child. I know this came from 50 Cent. I know he did it."
50 has always strongly denied the accusations. |

I think the fair thing to do is for 50 to buy her a house, pay all the utilities and insurance as well as two cars one suv and sedan. And the 6700 a month is plenty, the father should also pay for the education, clothes, extra curricular activities. 80k is a lot of money regardless of what the father makes, Invest the money, save it, educate yourself. 50 is not obligated to provide beyond the things that I have mentioned. I think he would have given her the house if she hadn't taken him to court trying to get $50,000 per month, and then moving the guy in was just the icing on the cake. The problem is, there's still insurance and yearly to pay on the house in addition to other nonsense that comes up, but in true BIRD fashion she would've been trying to hand that over to 50 while her man is sitting up in there the whole time.
She MESSED up ROYALLY, and if I were him, I'd put $20 million in a trust for Marquis and keep her at the $6,700 per month. She could go somewhere like Texas or Arizona and buy property, have the high-end condos built on there and charge business execs $1500, per condo. All I got to say is if 50 was my child's father I would be happy with the 6,700 I was getting monthly.
