This might be the best thing for him. With iTunes and Rhapsody he can easily start his own label and setup his own distribution quite easilty. He may not sell as many units but if he owns it all he doesn't need to do the same number of units to continue to get his bread. Provided he saved enough money to pay for his production and a little marketing. If not hopefully he has enough goodwill with solid producers he can go into to partnerships with on each album from now on. Getting "dropped" is prolly going to be the best thing that ever happened to him. |
