They believe mental illness is a sign of a degraded human being and to suffer from it means you brought it upon yourself. They do not believe in seeking medical treatment/therapy for mental disorders.
Kawasaki syndrome is something that can be easily treated and cured in young children so if Jett Travolta was diagnosed with it when he was young, as his parents claimed, the condition should have been easily reversible and he should have gone on to lead a normal life.

ANYWAY- its a shame MTO decided to spin this into a trashy gossip story instead of having respect for a man and his dead son. yall are too caught up into who is gay and who is not. even if Travolta is gay, is that relevant now? the man is about to bury his son! it seems as if Jett was mentally and physically challenged. he had a nanny that slept next door to his bedroom, he had a baby monitor in his room, and he had a bell attached to his door that went off everytime he entered/exited his room. hes 16 years old, so if he required that much monitoring, he must have had a serious condition. people are saying that the family tried to hide this from the media, but its their choice whether to speak up on this or not, their son was entitled to privacy. Im hoping the family is able to get through this, and hopefully their religion will be of good use now and get them to make sense of this tragedy |

This man's family is grieving the loss of their only son and regardless of what methods they decided to treat his illness is none of our business. Many religions are against blood transfusions, organ donations, surgeries and medication. So, to sit up and report that this man purposely allowed his son to be treated improperly for his illness by his gay lover is repulsive. And to make matters worse when you guys initially reported this tragedy it was one of then last headlines printed in black so you didn't think it was a big deal. NASSAU(REUTERS) John Travolta broke a two-day silence over the death of his 16 year old son Jett on Sunday, saying he and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, were "heartbroken" by their sudden loss.
Jett, who had a history of seizures, was found unconscious in a bathroom at his family's home at the Old Bahama Bay resort on Grand Bahama island on Friday morning.
He was pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport and an autopsy to determine the cause of death is due to be performed in the Bahama on Monday.
"Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered." Travolta said in a statement posted on his website www.travolta.com
"We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time that was had with him for the rest of our lives."
The statement did not refer to Jett's medical history of possible cause of death. But it offered thanks from the Hollywood star, his wife and their 8 year old daughter, Ella, for "many messages of condolence from around the world."
Travolta has said previously that Jett became very sick when he was a toddler and was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, which leads to inflammation of the blood vessels in young children.
Travolta's publicists have declined to comment on autopsy or funeral plans for the actor's teenage son and could not be reached for comment on Sunday. |

When I read that Jett had a male nanny, a thought did cross my mind but that was it. Most nannies are female.
First it was reported that the teen hadn't been found until the next day. I was like WTH? Any child with seizures should have an attendent at all times. Even during showers someone should be outside the door listening in case he/she falls. You know celebs will rush to defend themselves when something odd leaks out.
