COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The wife of New England Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour was arrested Thursday morning.
Investigators say 27 year old Tanya Seymour is charged with two counts of second degree lynching.
Under South Carolina law, that form of lynching is defined as "...any act of violence inflicted by a mob upon the body of another person and from which death does not result."
The 27 year old is accused of being one of several people who assaulted two women after a verbal dispute.
The alleged victims say they were "jumped" after being told to leave the party.
One of the victims says she suffered what may have been a sprained wrist.
A sheriff's department report says the other victim had no visible injuries and refused medical attention.
Seymour's bond has been set at $5,000 personal recognizance.
Richard Seymour was a Gadsden native who became a standout at Lower Richland High and later took his skills to the Super Bowl.

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The wife of New England Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour was arrested Thursday morning.
Investigators say 27 year old Tanya Seymour is charged with two counts of second degree lynching.
Under South Carolina law, that form of lynching is defined as "...any act of violence inflicted by a mob upon the body of another person and from which death does not result."
The 27 year old is accused of being one of several people who assaulted two women after a verbal dispute.

So, after I stopped laughing, I read some of the comments on this page. Then I laughed some more. I want all the ladies saying "she should have jumped on him" to put themselves in her shoes. You have had four, FOUR, babies from a man and MARRIED him. What do you do when you find out he cheating?

Words were exchanged, things got heated because the wife was probably verbally disrespected and that resulted in probably no more than a push or shove as one of the two parties was leaving. If a crowd tightly gathered around them suspecting a fight, which is more than likely, the injury could have come from anyone in the surrounding crowd, the woman who may have a sprained wrist, p;ease, she may have bumped her hand on the back of a chair. This sounds blown out of context, especially since the wife was released on her own personal recognizance. Had the instance of real harm been evident she would not have gotten off on her word, she would still be behind bars.

I don't know that I would have gone as far as lynching someone - especially, if dude ain't hanging from the rope TOO! That girl wasn't in this extra affair by herself. Women always want to jump on the 'jump off' - but let the man go free. BOTH of them are deviants and both of them are wrong. The man had no business approaching, and the jump off KNOWS the man is married, ought to have enough CHARACTER to not get involved.
