If Chris did "beat her" I don't think anyone is justifying it, or at least I'm not.
But truth be told, woman and man need to look at this story. This is something that happens everyday, and more men are affected than people think, from jealous, bitter, disgruntle girlfriends. Things like this are so easy to stage against men. I'm not saying that he couldn't have just lashed out on her but I've known many abused women & abused men and I don't believe her.
Would it have been different, if the so called "witness" who phoned the police had said it was Chris instead of Rihanna "beat" in the car. Most of ya'll would be like that big boy is letting her beat on him, but the reality is it happens.

I love Rihanna and Chris and I feel so sorry for the both of them. They are so very young to have this horriable thing to occur. A man should never put his hands on a woman to harm her, only used to protect her and the family. He has to learn a lesson quickly before it's too late. I wasnt going to initially comment but I couldn't hold it any longer. I do not condone violence against women, but there are some women and Rhianna could be one of them, who feels like that they are not loved by their boyfriends unless they being beat on. I personally have friends that provoke fights with their men, or go out their way to piss them off just so that a fight can occur.
I truly sympathize with both parties, because we were not there. There are so many abused women out there who do not get the help they need to leave an abusive situation.
As a mother of 2 sons, 19yrs and 8yrs old, I wouldn't know what to do in this situation. I have never been abused so my boys never seen that kind of behavior in the house, he obviously has some serious issues. Who knows if this was even the first time this has happened.

Just curious, how would you tell your son to "defend" himself against a WOMAN, with no weapons or anything? I have a son as well, as well as daughters, so I know how I would feel on both sides. A REAL man doesn't have to hit a women out of self defense. He can grab her, pin her down, and gain control of her, but he doesn't NEED to hit her to defend himself. People are crazy defending him - on any level. The best statement is "No comment." When my brother was young he used to beat my neice's mama (who was much younger than him) and she had a loud mouth and was always "provoking" him. Pinkdiamondprincezz great post, I agree. Has anyone noticed how the entertainment news shows are trying to bait Black celebrities into taking a side on this whole thing? Especially T M Z, ugh. Whenever someone gives then a neutral careful answer, they talk sh*t about them. It's like they expect every Black celebrity they ask to come down hard against Chris Brown. He's not the first celebrity to get in trouble for something like this, but the media, I guess, has deemed him evil now. He's only 19 years old. I feel bad for both of them. They're both young and successful and now have to deal with this in a public way. Normally I'd usually take the woman's side, but in this case I feel conflicted because I like them both. I don't feel ready to just throw Chris Brown out with the trash, he's a talented, likable young man. But I know how hypocritical that sounds. I'm hoping the reports of Rihanna's injuries are exaggerated, for her sake, because she'll have enough wounds to heal on an emotional level. I hope she can get through this. I wish this hadn't happened. Yes, we don't have all the facts, but Chris must have done something.
Wow, Chris's family should definetely stay out of it for the moment, I agree. That is a bit insensitve and biased of her to deduce that he wouldnt have done it, and that osmething provoked it. Okay, so let's say something like..anger provoked it..Does that justify it lady?! LOL, I agree that men provoke women and vice versa, however physical warfare is not justified under the circumstance of mere anger or frustration. If Chris had been defending himself and struck her, or vice versa even, this bout of violence wouldve been somewhat plausible, but since we are left with minute details like "Chris choked her unconscious and said he was going to kill her" I'm led to believe that that's a far cry from self defense. But what have you.
Ultimately I agree with the general consensus that, a man shouldn't place his hands on a woman, but nor does that grant the woman authority to abuse the fact that a man is physically stronger and take blows, while resting assured she will not be struck in the line of defense-it's ridiculous. Ultimately, MAN or WOMAN, agression is NOT the way to solve a problem, and for these two it seems to be a way to communicate, and they just need to break it off..now unforunately its affecting their careers...and his cousin needs to sit the hell down because she doesnt know what happened, and in one line claims he must've been provoked, yet that we no not what happened behind closed doors..
As for the whole "is is cousin white" bit, it amazes me that people can be suprised of one's potential ancestry. I'd assume (just a guess) from looking at his mother that his mom is atleast 1/4 of Caucasion or Non African American ancestry, and that this could be a cousin from either her maternal or paternal side of the family, thus by default being one of chri's cousins..It may not be a first cousin, but it could definetly be a second or third. I only say that in assumption because, I am 1/8 German and do not appear to be in any way (for the most part) multiracial, yet my Great Aunt and a few of second cousins look like they are not related to me in the LEAST bit, as I appear very much African American.
