Me and a friend of mine went to another friends house, [but] before we get to the porch he stops us and tells us that the girl on the porch was from [the show] In The House. As we approached the porch I looked dead into her glassy eyes and new it was her.Sounds like quite a day…She said she was sleepin on venice beach, and needed someone to do her hair, my boy said she was walking up and asked him where the weed was, and than came back and asked for someone to do her hair.
As we're seating there she's trying hard to eat some tacos she ordered, shaking and shit like she had to go pee...she asked who had a car, I said I did, and she asked if me and my stud home girl (we both look like cute boys) did we wanna go shopping.
We both said yeah, but she asked me to take her to her "cousins" house first, somewhere on [ADDRESS REDACTED]. Anyway, she’s jumpin’ around and gettin happy in the back seat as we're pullin up, no doubt getting’ her fix. She runs to the car tryna fix her shit, and I had to kick her ass out, like.."Bitch we only smoke kush in here!!!'
She gets out goes on the side of the dudes house and gets her hit. On the way to the mall which was hellla close, she still wants another hit, so she asks to go to the store … [and] she’s stand behind the door, which was barely covered my ads, gettin high, smoke everywhere from the pipe, in broad day light...
I got mad as f*ck and told her to come'on, she was feeling a lil better, but had to hit AGAIN in my car as me and my other 2 homies are walkin to the door of the fox hills mall.
They're inside, but i had to lock my car, she was in side smokin my shit out!!!! Smelling like chemicals, from that meth..
She started talking to me, telling me about her moms, and kids, and how her husband told on her, most likely tryna help her, i let her use my phone while we we're in the car and she called i think her grandma, and her dad, but i shouldnt have let her do that kuz she had some big ass bumps and shit on her lips.
Got inside, she couldnt buy sh*t, kuz she didnt have a id for her credit card, all the while stealing shit to put on, something we didnt find out till later...
While in the mall, she goes to the bathroom a the food court and fills the bathroom ceiling of meth smoke, like it was koo ... my friends came back and told me what she was doing, and i really got pissed the fuck off and ran to the bathroom sticking my head in yelling her government name, since she asked us to call her genisis ...
Leaving the mall, my homeboy was in the backseat tryna spit that pimp shit, she really wasn’t hearing it kuz she was running outta drugs,, but i told her i wasnt taking her ass anywhere else if she didnt wash her ass, kuz she was smelling reaaaalllly bad, like a bum yo!!, i had to wipe off my seats, they're cream leather, and you could see the fucking dirt where she sat.
When she got out from showering at another homeboys house, only taking 3 mins or so, she honestly looked better, her hair was wet and curly, she put on make-up, and i gave her a shirt of my girlfriends out the trunk, I realllly saw maia than, and we all jus stopped and looked at her and it got kinda uncomfortable, and than she asked us to stop, and said she was ready to go.
My homeboy was steady on that pimpin sh*t, but I think he was starting to scare her, he thought he was puttin her on the track where she was asking to be dropped off, but she was really meeting up wit a trick or someone who had some more drugs for her.
The whole fucking day was wild!! I got pics of her on the porch gettin her hair done, and her in the foxhill mall at macy's lookin at a watch...real sh*t ... and i got her funky as smell in my car ...
The rumor is she's been on drugs quite some time and has admitted to such in different news magazines over the years. It just goes to show once again that drug addiction knows no boundaries in people, white/black or rich/poor and it will take you all the way down if you so choose to get caught up in the life. Okay so why not try to help her out instead of insulting her and the other guys trying to get a piece of ***. This is very disturbing considering who her mother was. Last time she was in Philly she stole a guy SUV and hasn't been seen since. It's a shame since she lost her mother she hasn't been right since. My prayers are with her.

Before her mother died bebe moore campbell her last book was about her daughter maia and her struggle to keep her committed for bipolar disorder and how she would not stay on her meds. The book was written about how much she was suffering watching her Maia go through mental illness. Even though the book did not use Maias name I saw her interviewed and that is what the book was based on she said. So this girl is severely mentally ill and is using drugs to self-medicate. This is an example of mental illness/bipolar disorder without meds and what it can do to a person.
What was the point of posting this story? It's shameful that MTO would profit from this girl's illness just to generate hits. What's worse is that the same folks laughing at her are the same ones on Amy Winehouse's threads talking about they'll pray for her and to leave her alone because she's sick. Well what is this girl? She's been mentally and emotionally unstable for a long time and it's a *** shame that she hasn't sought help. Just because she hasn't sold a hit record or hasn't been on television, does that mean she should be ridiculed? Between this and the story on the guy from the Five Heartbeats, MTO just continues to prove how *** they are. Don't judge her. Maia is going through some real serious SH!T right now. She's always had mental health issues and when her mom died; that just pushed her over the edge. Maia needs to be in rehab and getting counseling to deal with her pround grief and lost. She has no support system. Pray for her and those like her. On the real.
This young lady went through a lot, it seems when her mom took sick she went from bad to worse. Her mother passed in 2006. She was BeBe Moore Campbell, a novelist. I just pray that God delivers her from these demons that she is challenging. We all know someone or have known someone that has fallen to the use of drugs. And for those saying she HAD POTENTIAL TO BE... She still has the same potential, the same ability. She's not the only talent entertainer strung out on drugs. There are plenty of those strung out still working, some of them are very successful. She only has to belief that she can still do it.
Many drug abusers are surrounded by people who lead them to think they aren't worth anything, that they can't do what they used to career or talent wise. It's not always the case.
How sad... I remember when she and Megan Goode used to fight over who was the prettiest (Maia was, IMO Megan is far too overrated). And to those ripping the person that told/sold this story: The poster had just met the Maia that day.... why would you expect her to be able to get Maia help when Maia's own mother (who had the money and the connections) could not! And don't get upset with the poster and blame her, every last one of us clicked on to read the story, which would make us "accessories"! Maia has to save Maia (with God's help of course). Like it was mentioned earlier, she has battled with bipolar for years and had a very strained relationship with her mother. Sadly this isn't new....She has been rock bottom as a junkie for a while, and I really wonder if she will ever get her life together.
It is very sad. I hear people when they say someone should help her, by the reality with addicts is that there is no helping them until they have that moment of clarity and are ready to make a change for themselves. At some point we are all responsible for out actions. People can only treat us how we allow. I pray for her that she hits that point where she is ready to allow people to help her so she can get herself together. She really was a beautiful, talented woman.

In regards to trying to help a person who has an addiction, you have to be spiritually ready and mentally strong. I have a friend whom I love dearly who is a user, and I have tried to help her. But I had to think of my family (my children). You can try to assist, but that person has to be ready to let it go. I think a lot of times, we as family and friends try and make them STOP. That addiction is painful to them, it hurts badly when they do not get that fix or hit or pull from that blunt, or drink even. They need it cause if not, they will get up and sneak out of your home in the middle of the ***, to look for it. I had an uncle who when he had no liquor, he would drink (rubbing) Alcohol, literally. We can pray, and pray, but God will deliver them one day. They also have to want to stop the abuse.
Poor girl....*** this can happen to anyone and it should be a wake up call to where you can end up if you continue to endulge in destructive behavior.
I saw that video of her smoking crack too. It definitely was her. It's sad because she's had so much to deal with. Losing her mother sent her way over the edge and if some type of intervention doesn't take place soon the next place we'll see Maia is in a coffin.

Meth is an outrageous drug, In my opinion its the (#1) hardest drug to recover from--even over crack. Im a certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor working mainly in the County of the Los Angeles. It was the most difficult task I've faced thus far. This drug kills off brain cells with ever toke--leaving damage the can only compare to Acid use or huffing..
God help this child...My blessings goes out the this young sister--If indeed Meth is her choice of drug she has a long road to tow--but It can be done. Maia's story is no different than millions of other people who's abusing drugs. And when SHE'S ready and only then will she get help. Also it's like everyone thinks all crack addicts are skinny....I've personally know that average size and big folks who were crack addicts as well..the difference is that they still eat. Drugs don't discrimate. Possibilities are that you may even know someone who secretly has an addiction.

I'm so sorry to read about this. I agree someone maybe even another celeb should reach out and try to help Maia, but like someone already said if she wants to get high, she'll leave in the middle of the *** and go find a fix. Maia currently has too much idle time, I think she needs something to keep her occupied and take her mind off the drugs. I honestly have an uncle who battled drug abuse from the time he came home from the Gulf War up until about 2004. Addiction is real.

My heart goes out to her, but she would have to want the help in the long run. My ex-boyfriend sister is a crackhead, she has a big family but it seems like they all has had enough of her antics. I am and i have been trying my best to help her. I used to let her stay over my place but after i find her along with some of my things missing the next morning she can no longer stay over ***. Now she just come to me if she want to eat or sleep it off. I've taken her to rehabs two of them i've even paid for each time she ran away. Sigh-This woman is in pain. She is a walking lost soul who most likly is looking for the ultimate. Lets just hope it does not kill her in the end.
I'm not sure why someone thought this story was funny. This child has been dealing with mental and drug abuse issues for several years now. Her Mother Author BEBE Moore Campbell passed away from brain cancer Nov 27, 2006. Not only is this child bypolar she has a drug addiction. Her mother wrote a book 72 hour hold that explores issues with dealing with her daughter mental illness. MediaTakeout this is a story that should have been handled better. There is nothing funny when it comes to a beautiful young woman who is lost. Her father actually lives in the Washington DC area and she got in some trouble here a few years ago for stealing someone's jeep. We should be praying for this child and not snickering and making jokes.

The other day when I was getting ready for work she called me talking about she needed a ride somewhere. Maia is bipolar and her mother, author Bebe Moore Campbell passed away a few years ago. She really went downhill since her mother's death. About a year ago, my family reached out to her and she stayed with us for a couple weeks. Very sweet, smart girl but she is a lost soul. It's sad...the life she is living. Pray for her!

I have someone very close to me that is Bipolar and PLEASE BELIEVE when I tell you, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy! It is a SERIOUS and potentially dangerous mental condition. I really feel bad for her, when the mania is over (they think its fun while they are going thru it, while everyone else is mortified) and she realizes her behavior has caused her to be publicly humiliated (again), she will become despondent and thats when the suicidal depression takes over. Its a sad and vicious emotional rollercoaster and I'm afraid this will not end well. ESPECIALLY if shes effin with METH(!!), which makes users prone to violence. *** damn ***. To respond to the comment of Ilikeboys, to be honest, one of my family members did not. He has never kept a permanent job in his life. He lives rent free in my grandmothers house while his three kids live with my grandparents.
When I made that comment that Maia had a lot going for herself. I think you know what I meant, I was referring to the money, fame and opportunity. Yes, drugs kill and are dangerous to ANYONE, famous or not.
It is just that everyday people are are not afforded the opportunities that celebrities are blessed to receive. Celebrities are not perfect and they have issues just as everyone else; however, everyday people are not born to famous parents, everyday people do not receive acting, singing, or sport player opportunities.

This is sad. She needs prayer. But she's suffering from mental illness and this is the way she is self medicating herself. There are a lot of people like Maia out there. What's worse is the people who expoited her and this story. Why treat her like ***? Calling her names and making fun of her situation?? That sucks... That could be anybody's situation if they don't plan for the unexpected.

OK I just went on the net a looked up a lot on this young lady and after reading a review of her mom's book 72 Hour Hold I realize that her mom probably did have a situation like that with Maia where people came and "kidnapped" her from situation to help her get better...I don't wish this type of illness to anyone. I guess the "hoods" who rode he around didn't know of these illnesses and how erratic their behavior. I like what reviewer said about BeBe Campbell book: It's biology and chemistry, get it? It's not about demonic possession or bad parenting. It's about accessible, affordable, ample and aggressive health care. Now I know U all might think, "Well she was rich why didn't she complete treatment"...I have no idea, but I hope she has the power within herself to get right!!!
This is such a sad story...that girl's family provided her with the best of everything money could buy...her parents were paying for her to attend Spelman College, she had modeling and acting gigs left and right, she grew up in one of the best neighborhoods in L.A...she had beauty, wealth...and look at WTF happened...she refused treatment for her mental illness...she is bi-polar...which is the worst mental illness out there to date because there is no cure...people got her hooked on drugs, and if you mix that with an already pre-existing mental illness you got a *** mess on your hands...her moms passed away recently with brain camcer...may her soul rest in peace...this is just heartbreaking...Maia if you are reading this, please go check yourself into a hospital and get stable...you can clearly see she is off her meds...from what I understand her moms said in an interview that mental illness runs in her family...she can't help this...and Tyrese funky *** made fun of her one time about her situation, when he was in a chitlin circuit play with her...he called Maia out about all this...mental illness is nothing to joke about...because really there very few cures for diseases of the mind...

You don't know how she became hooked on drugs to say it's her fault. You don't know if she was at a party/club and someone slipped her something to get her hooked. You don't know if the person who sells to her is putting extra addictive *** in his stash to make sure his customers keep coming back to HIM to purchase.
I really wonder the same thing about Amy Winehouse. I think she bought from someone who engineered their drug stash to be extra addictive, there are people who do that ***.
@ Salome that was very big and thoughtful of you to contact Dr. Drew to help Maia. Everyone is sitting here laughing at her when she cannot help the situation that she is in. Her mental condition is like a disability, and putting her on blast like this is like laughing at a person in a wheelchair. My heart goes out to her, and I hope that she will be willing to seek help for herself.
