The affidavit is only what she told the police(well actually it was edited and fixed by the black male hating LAPD because she is not that articulate) after she had just been cheated on, lost a fight and was dumped. It's sad but the real issue of domestic violence is being lost in this Chris and Rhianna B.S. because of the somewhat salacious reporting on this incident and thats the reason for the result (Some media outlets report it as a fight others an assault etc). If this was a case focused on real domestic violence abuse in the home and partners living together the result would have been different. Despite all the alleged reports of fighting, shoving on either part (thats what they are no one really knows) but thats the bane of the media today to get into people business and embellish things for their own good. That One incident equal assault to me NOT CONDONING IT, not domestic they were not domestic partners but they just want Chris to be a poster child for domestic abuse since its been some time have past on the Nicole Simpson case, which was a classic case of domestic abuse. |

I agree with Muffie and people like Trooper. I alluded to that in my post yesterday. Oprah and the media is making a mockery of real domestic violence because they are real issues out there. The teens are getting mixed message from the media because some have put a new spin on it by being salacious and misleading in their reporting. Was it a fight? are there previous reports on file like the Nicole Simpson case or the white young girl Oprah had on her show with her boyfriend of three years going through physical and mental abuse or was it a onetime assault for what ever reason known to Chris why he could not have just walk away. Thats the real issue for me and concern that young people not assigned this Chris and Rhianna as a tutorial tool for doemstic violence. Go to a domestic violence shelter and meet real people who have been battered for years and the toll it took on them. Oprah and others should have a platform for deomstic violence issues; both men and women, make it deeper than Chris and Rhianna and stop capitalizing on their fame, then these young people may have a different and more seruous approach and result. |

At first I hated it because she questioned me about everything when I met a boy. What's his name? How old is? Does he have job? Are his parents together? Does he get good grades? Where does he live? Why does he like you? etc; She still questions me, all the time but I don't have problem with it anymore because in the end little information like that can tell you so much about a person. Instead of rushing into a relationship you need to get to know a person first. And that's something that I feel Rihanna and Chris did not do.
Their relationship is nothing more than lust, not love. They probably met a few times and gone out on a date or two and then decided that they were ready for a commitment but they went too fast. It takes time to understand a female/male, especially a male/female that has been in a home with abuse, whether it's emotional, physical, or verbal. When you go through something like that you have to get help because nine times out of ten you will end up carrying those traits into your relationships. It's obvious that neither one of them got the help that they needed or things wouldn't have gotten so explosive. But should that be an excuse for situations like this? Absolutely not.
Should Chris have put his hands on Rihanna? No, because she is a woman. A woman does not have the same strength as a man. So, yes he was wrong in every way possible. Should she have hit him first?(If it's true). No, because you are supposed to keep your hands to yourself unless someone is about to hit you. Therefore, it's self-defense. And of course half you are saying it's self-defense because she hit him first but you have to remember that when a woman hits a man it's not comparable to a man's punch. Men are bigger and have more energy than most women.One blow to the face could cause permanent damage whereas one blow to a man's face is very little.
Think about it.
Either way, both were wrong but Chris went to far, he could have killed her. I've lost respect for both and hopefully Chris goes to jail. If not, Rihanna will end up dead. It's only a matter of time. |

For some strange reason women find comfort in seeing and hearing men disrespect other women because they convince them self that if they act, "like a lady" or "demand respect" this cant happen to them. The mentality is because women are raised (more like trained) to believe that they are responsible for a mans behavior and that somehow we control everything that happens in our relationships. So when men disrespect other women, they believe it is because those women deserved it and some how if they are "perfect women" this cant and wont happen to them. Sadly, if you look at the marriage statistics in our community that logic is clearly not holding up. |
