According to our insider, Rihanna is concerned with incriminating herself with her testimony - and will plead the fifth if she's called to the stand.
But according to TMZ, Rihanna is hoping that it won't get that far. Here's what they're reporting:
Sources connected with Chris Brown and Rihanna tell TMZ Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, wants the judge to give Rihanna a pass from testifying because of leaks in the case.This story just never ends...We're told Geragos and Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, believe Rihanna was compromised when her name surfaced as the alleged victim in the beating. They claim this and other leaks violate her privacy rights and therefore she should not have to further put herself out to the public by testifying against Brown in the case.

This is the typical action of an abused woman, its more important to love him and be loyal to him than to love herself. She thinks that if she protects him and shows that she is apologetic for her part in the incident that he will never do it again. She can change him if he sees how much she loves him and what a good woman she is.
One of my best friends is a social worker who also has a degree in psychology, she volunteers at a battered woman's shelter and she says that she sees this all of the time.

I also work at a DV shelter and what you said is exactly how it happens. She thinks that if she stands by him that she can change him. But the problem is not with her. Abusers are people who don't know how to handle their own self-hatred so they go through life beating on women because they see them as weak and easy targets. She doesn't control that. Also, she has some self-esteem issues of her own because she doesn't know to leave a man alone if he is capable of beating you literally like your some piece of meat. I hate to tell you ladies that Rihanna won't testify because Chris Brown's Attorney can question her about the statements she made to the police. Anybody with commonsense can tell that she made her statements out of anger. It is unbelieveable, the police report is not based on facts, but the words of the victim. Whether she is telling the truth you would need to read between the lines If someone threaten to kill you, you would have a restrainting order against him or her. You won't tell your attorney it's ok for Chris to see her. The description of the incident is quite creative. She doesn't mention her role in the incident.
I believe that Chris might have backhanded her, but he didn't punch her in the face. Those injuries in the pic look as if she was beaten badly, but we know she was ok and doing well according to her relatives.

That doesn't mean he won't be charged. There are laws for situations like this, when women go back to their abusers.
