Apparently last Friday Kelis found some texts and suggestive pics of a female. The girl got very disrespectful with Kelis over the phone and she WENT OFF on Nas. They got into it and she put him out/he left and they haven’t had contact since. This is according to Elliot Wilson. I dismissed blog claims that Nas and Kelis were in trouble. You know how it goes in the blog reporting world. If Celebrity Spouse A is seen in public without Celebrity Spouse B, or worse, with a member of the opposite sex, they are having problems.
But it has been confirmed.
My favorite hip-hop couple, critically-acclaimed and Grammy nominated artists Nas and Kelis are in the process of parting ways.
Thursday Kelis officially filed for a divorce from her husband of five years and nine months. "I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," a spokesperson for Kelis told VIBE. "We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."
According to the petition for dissolution of marriage document, obtained by Vibe.com, Nas and Kelis wed on July 28, 2003.
Kelis, who is seven months pregnant, is rumored to be unhappy with Nas' "verbally abusive and cheating ways" reports RapRadar.com.
Ironically, Nas didn't express any indication that the marriage was experiencing problems last month when he spoke to MTV News, reports Access Hollywood. He said that his pregnant wife was doing "great" and discussed their approach to determine the child's name.
"I've been thinking about kinda putting something online: ‘Choose his name,'" Nas told MTV with a smile. "You get a couple stacks for that. We take care of you for that. You win something real. But we're thinking now."
The union seemed genuine. When the couple first met at an MTV Video Awards after party, Nas told Kelis that he had been admiring her from afar and had wanted to make her his wife.
Nas made a cameo in the video for Kelis' song "Milkshake" which reached top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Nas' gold-certified album Untitled was nominated for a 2009 Grammy award for best rap album.

My opinion is that Kelis may need to put the divorce on HOLD. DO NOT pay attention to friends! You will experience tough times in a relationship. With your hubby you know what to expect. You get with someone else, and they will have a different problem. Don't bring a bastard child into this world. HOLD ON TO YOUR MAN!!!!!!!

I'm sorry they are breaking up. I hope they can work things out. Just because someone is bisexual doesn't mean they f**k everything and everyone that crosses their path. Here's hoping the rumors about them having a 3some with another woman aren't true. That's the quickest way to begin the ending of a relationship; inviting a third person into an established couples' bedroom without having an explicit understanding.
