: MediaTakeOut.com just received some GREAT NEWS!!! Apparently scientists have created a device that allows you to have unprotected sex – without risk of pregnancy or HIV infection.
Typically, we here at MediaTakeOut.com are SKEPTICAL whenever we hear about stuff like this. But this time it’s different.
First off, the device was created by scientists from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York – one of the most respected medical schools in the world. Second, they issued an OFFICIAL press release about the new device.
Here are excerpts from the release:
Researchers from Weill Cornell Medical College have published results showing that a new contraceptive device may also effectively block the transmission of the HIV virus. Findings show that the device prevents infection by the HIV virus in laboratory testing. The promising results are published in the most recent issue of the journal AIDS.The new device is a vaginal ring that releases multiple types of non-hormonal agents and microbicides, which would prevent conception as well as sexually transmitted HIV infection… The vaginally inserted ring is incorporated with multiple antiviral drugs that prevent HIV infection and are time-released over a period up to 28 days. The compounds tested were a newly developed anti-HIV agent, Boc-lysinated betulonic acid, TMC120 (dapivirine), PMPA, and 3'-azido-3'-deoxythymidine (AZT or zidovudine), which, when combined, were found to block infection in human cells exposed to the virus in a laboratory setting.
Now ain't this some ***! they can claim to find a way to prevent from getting it but can't find a cure. Next thing you know you'll be hearing those quiet *** lawsuit commercials at 3:oo am in the morning. They always said the money is not in a cure it's in the medicine. AMerica has a cure for AIDS. not buying it. still doesn't sound safe to me. this won't prevent people that already have herpes from spreading it. I'm sure that's the case for other STDs too. Won't work for oral and anal either. What are you going to do? Put the device in your mouth? It's nice that they are trying to figure out ways to prevent diseases but we've got a very long way. I feel there is a cure out there for HIV already. They're not sharing it with the world. Pharmaceutical companies will lose money if that comes out. Just my thoughs. I think it's great news that scientists are working so hard to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. At the very least this will be good for women that are married or in what they BELIEVE is a monogamous relationship and not trying to get pregnant...too many unsuspecting women wind up getting the virus from cheating partners and that downlow mess...but for single people this is not a good idea
