You are late MTO. Read about this on T-M-Z. RIP to him. A lot of reports are saying that his last GF (not Nicole, some girl named Haylie) broke up with him a couple of days before his death. He was depressed about it and was still depressed about surviving the plane crash. |

Sadly, surviving the plane crash indirectly had a part in starting the drugs again. I'm sure he was on morphine and demerol and who knows what else for his burns, not to mention the sedatives and anti-anxiety meds. He may have needed these drugs for treatment,but for someone with a severe past drug problem it would have been difficult to not go down that path again. It's a shame. With all of the focus on celebrity Rx drug overdoses, us regular people aren't even going to be able to get an aspirin without getting fingerprinted. |

For God's sake you survive a plane crash with only one other person and everybody else on the plane passes that was a indicator right there at the time it wasn't his time to pass and have a second chance at life for whatever demons he had with the drugs to clean that mess up..but he thought he was invicible being he survived a horrific plan crash..it angers me how hard headed this man was... |

These "celebrities" are just so unbelievable. I want to sit here and feel bad but the reality is they bring these things on themselves. Celebrities don't have to worry about a recession or where their next meal is coming from or if they'll get laid off or have health care next week, so they create their own problems. Most of them are selfish and self-absorbed and instead of doing good with their fame and fortune and drink, smoke, and party it away then go to "rehab" which resembles a spa in Cancun more than a true health facility and pop back out then start the cycle all over again. In the mean time the media follows their antics and hype them up to be way more important than they really are. Then when they "accidentally" overdose, the world is supposed to mourn their stupid actions? Give me a f'n break! These are not 10 year olds. How many ADULTS do not know that hmmm maybe vicodin and crack don't mix?!?!? Or hey, maybe you shouldn't take your anti-depressant, sleep medication and anti-anxiety pills within 15 minutes of each other. I mean seriously. Then they say it's an "accident", well is it really? If I go take 5 aleve, drink a bottle of cold syrup and then finish off the vicodin from my surgery right now, is that an "accident"? No. But they rule it as such so the insurance companies will be forced to pay out their life insurance. Now if that was any one of us, it would be suicide and our poor families will suffer even more. With that said, I'm not completely heartless. I have seen first hand how hard it is to stay sober when you are an addict. It is hard work, every single day, no weekends off, no vacations,no "mental health days". It is so much work and the fact that he was sober nine years (I think thats what I read) is a huge accomplishment. Fame, a devastating plane crash/injuries, loosing people you were close to, a break-up, and who knows what else are all extra challenges that he had to deal with ON TOP of sobriety. Its ashame he couldn't stay clean:( |

Ironic that his fight with Nicole was that she partied too much because he didn't want to risk his sobriety, and then he dies from a drug overdose. Life is so strange. This just goes to show drugs rule. You cannot manage drugs, EVER! So if you have been clean for years that does not mean you can "treat" yourself to a high. You can never predict how your body will react to drugs. DJ AM seemed like such a cool guy. The news of his death by an overdose should be a wake-up call to some ppl (God might be using this as an example to ppl), but very sad for some others. My condolences to his fam. |
