On of the reasons these shows continue to fail is because of lack of black writers in Hollywood and the egotistical mindset of producers that fail while attempting to tell the black experience.

It aint about black writers... Sanford and Son had nothing but white and Jewish writers, and that stuff is still funny today. It's the actors.

TV HAS EVOLVED AND SITCOMS ARE NOW MORE LIKE WEBISODES. THIS SHOW SHOULD GET CANCELLED NOT BECAUSE IT IS A BLACK SHOW AND THERE ARE NO BLACK WRITERS, IT SHOULD BE CANCELLED BECAUSE IT IS A HORRIBLE SHOW. WE NEED TO PUT SHOWS ON THAT APPEAL TO MAIN STREET AMERICA. WE NEED WRTIERS LIKE Aaron McGruder. WE CAN HAVE REALLY GOOD POSITIVE BLACK SHOWS ON TV BUT WE NEED TO STYLE IT IN A FORMAT THAT IS fast and funny. or fast, action packed, and to the point. Think about family guy and look house the format plays out.

here is one for free. two brothers heading off to college, one is about being smart, becoming a doctor, and having the american dream the other brother is an athlete, he receives a basketball scholorship to the same school as his brother. now tensions rise between the two when the smart brother (Terrence) feels that his brother (Joseph) should not be in the same school and jealousy ensumes. but you guys can figure the rest. drama, humor, love and the ideal school, Spelman college.

No offense to the guys - but it is tired. It reminded me of the old time black sitcoms – been there, seen that. They need new jokes or something. It just seemed so phony. I feel bad for the actors because they are all pretty good actors – but the writers of the show are TIRED.

I didn't even read the above commets until I made my statement and I see most of us are on the same track - as far as that show is concerned. The writers ARE TIRED as heck.

i didnt even know the show came on fridays! when i first saw the show it was on a sunday,befor the simpsons,that was a good spot to air the show.it seems to that they want to the show to fail.most of us like to go out on fridays after working all week!

For one, it comes on Friday nights when no one is home. Secondly, it just isn't funny. They days of funny sitcoms like Martin, Cosby, and Girlfriends are probably over.

the last good "black" show was axed by Fox...I'm talking about "Roc"!

they cancel all the good black shows: the game, girlfriends...the best black sitcoms were in the 90s tho: martin and living single.
