Semisweet- you are so right!! Gather up 10 black girls under the age of 10 and see how many of them have hair past their shoulders. Because of all those chemicals their mother puts in their hair at such a young age. The kidz are fine ! They are kidz with no pressure or hang-ups about how they look right now. They probably just grab their favorite pieces or pair of clothing & throw it on and that's ok. Mark my words, Zahara is gonna grow up to be a supermodel, or at least look like one. She is beautiful! And I see nothing wrong with her hair. These people have money, you think they don't consult w/ someone who tells them the best way o deal with the childs hair? Braiding it will break it and pull on her scalp. Pressing it? at her age? Best thing is to keep it natural and it will be healthier. She could throw on a headband or some accessory on the hair though-lol.

@longhairdontcare, I never said black hair doesn't need moisture. My hair is down my back so I know about black hair ok. My only point is that the girl if 5 years old or something. She can wear her hair natural and free and it does not look like she just got out of bed imo. It just looks like she has a mini-fro. Is there something wrong with a mini-fro? To find a proud natural black women is rare, and do you know why? because their is a vicious cycle of self hatred. Most black parents teach their daughters to hate their hair and have it pressed and permed constantly. Zahara looks so precious with her beautiful self. Her hair is perfect just the way it is. What is wrong with Shiloh being a tomboy? Dressing like a "girl" or a "boy" is a matter of social conditioning, anyway. Obviously these kids are able to dress however they feel comfortable--which is how it should be. The same people complaining about what Shiloh is wearing are just jealous cuz they have blisters and corns on their feet from wearing "cute" high heels all day.
I would rather her hair to be like it is than having it braided up with synthetic hair. I hate seeing girls this age with 100 braids in thier heads. I have 2 daughters and both have hair pass their shoulders. If you braid these young girls hair use their own hair and don't braid so tight. That's how you get their hair growing.
im pretty sure that a co-star or extra in a movie, a girl at the grocery store they frequent, a staff member at the house, an employee at the airport, somebody either can or has a cousin who can throw some braids or ponytails in zaharas hair....for free just cause they tired of looking at her head like that or just for braging rights.lol
it's important for sahara to have a fair shot in life, by developing a high sense of self esteem early on, inspite of all of her parents money. self esteem is a "huge" obstable to overcome. she's young now and eventually, she gonna notice other lil' "black girls" with nice hairstyles. going natural is fine. no relaxer necessary. just a study comb, a sturdy brush and decent brand of grease should do the trick. angelina should hire somebody to comb her hair, since she can't manage "black" hair herself...
