Roland is SEXY to me. I LOVE seeing his commentary on CNN. He is soo intelligent, conscious of his black self, and secure in his manhood. Just to enlighten everyone, there is NOTHING wrong with what he's wearing or how he's wearing it. This is the accepted and normal mode of dress in many African countries. A simple google search would have helped you realize it.
My parents are African (Ghanaian specifically) and unlike many people here, I've had the opportunity to be exposed to my culture first hand.
People need to wake up and see that there's more to "black culture" than large chains, baggy pants, and running shoes. There's so much depth in your heritage but many of you are too blind to see it.
How Sad..
Some of you just exposed how un-cultured you are. Some of you quoted lines from the movie "Amistad", and sadly that's the closest many of you will ever get to Africa.
Anyway, I've seen this same color, and style of outfit very often in the D.C. and Maryland area...and trust, its not cheap.
I take pride in the fact, since my parents are Africans (Ghanaians), and I was born here, I'm a REAL African-American, and it's not some title that I have to claim whenever I'm applying for a job...
LEAVE ROLAND ALONE! His choice of attire was to celebrate our heritage. He should be applauded and not Mocked!!!
When MTO provides positive commentary on African American issues and reports positively on the progress of the first African American president of the US, then MAYBE you can attack an intellgent, celebrated, respected journalist like Roland.

I like roland and what he has to say on the air , but this no question is a case where Roland dress himself and walk out the house without asking someone how does he look .
He is lucky my grandmother wasn't there, She would have pick him up literally and put him with the rest of her GARDEN ORNAMENTS.
What's so bad bout this?? Rolands just proud of his ancient heritage. And to the person who wrote something about "our ancestors didn't arrive in America dressed like this, this aint traditional", its obviously because those slavers STRIPPED them of their robes, clothes and fine jewelry. My father's pure West African, I was raised in the culture, and that robe is pretty standard. It aint even as flashy as the three piece versions worn by kings and the aristocracy with gold and silk embroidery and complex designs! Some of you must be plain ignorant to think your ancestors ran around butt naked like some outdated racist sambo stereotype..
