I'm from Philly and friends of mine have seen Maia on Broad St. in the Olney section of the city...they say you could barely recognize her from the pretty girl she used to be. She looks worn down almost like she sellin herself for money or something. This is soo SAD! and whats even worse is that she is someones mother, cuz she has a son out there.

Maybe the family has done an intervention and cant help her no more. Look she is grown and she knows what she is doing. Its really sad, her mother was a good author, I have all of her books. It goes to show you that money cant buy you happiness. Crack is hard to get off of and she is in the wrong neighborhood if she is trying to get off of it. I live in PHilly, born and raised and something tells me the two guys that wanted to "help" her wanted to "help themselves" to her. Just my opinion. If she is strung out on crack and looks bad, why would you leave her in your car, that was a bad move on their part, they should have just handed her the keys and told her see ya later alligator!!! |

i agree with rashboogie. it's easy to judge but the death of a loved one, especially your mother can push a person over the edge. nobody knows what she is going through. it doesn't sound like she is in a good place in her life right now. i just hope she is strong enough to make it through to the other side. |

Well, I personally believe that she is responsible for her own actions.
If she really is hooked on drugs - she'll hopefully get into a treatment center - if not, oh well...another lost sister.
She was given NUMEROUS opportunities, had alot of success, made major paper and wasted her life. Sucks to be her, but we all have choices. |

A friend of mines knows her and he said she is not on crack but she pop pills, I use to date a guy that popped pills and he was zoned out of his mind like she was. Whatever she is on, she needs to get off. If she was on meds for her bipolar SHE chose to get off of it, there are consequences for our actions and she is paying dearly. Hopefully she will wake up before its to late. |

i was so HEATED when they diagnosed our baby sister as bipolar. that is just an excuse to act dag on crazy. because in the beginning she was supposed to be ADD (can't pay attention) and THEN she was supposed to have been obsessive compulsive. me and my older sister said she just need her a@! whipped. she is my momma's baby and her father (our stepfather's) only child. she is just spoiled. i told them to diagnose her crazy self with THAT. SPOILED. now she smoke up all of their retirement and social security check and her own SSI check. i feel bad for THEM not HER for having to put up with that mess. |

I think everyone should stop putting her out there. It's obvious she has a problem. So what she used to be a celebrity she is still human and she still has problems like everyone else. This self righteous ISHT makes me sick the last thing a person with an addiction ( if she really has one) needs is to be put on blast. The girl lost her mother, her career went downt the drain and she is probably lost trying to find herself. Speaking from someone who has watached drugs and alcohol deteriorate some of the most beautiful people I know personally a lot of times the reason behind the constant NEED to get high or drunk stems from depression or guilt. Maybe if people would lift her up in prayers and pray for her child as well she would see someone was there for her rather to put every shameful thing she has done in the media! I pray for her she is talented and pretty and if she does have son I hope he is somewhere safe and secure from all this drama about his mother. |

We are born into this world to die so her mother time was up and now she is gone but she on the other hand needs to get it together.
