I'm never surprised to see the children of celebs with white people as friends or mates. If you live in a predominantly white neighborhood and go to a predominantly white school you can't help but identify with white culture more than black culture. Last time I checked bone21 Hispanics and blacks weren't that different, although people and the media would portray otherwise, from a racial standpoint we have to deal with pretty much the same issues, with the exception of illegal immigration. Race can be used in every situation, just depends on whether it should be. There are too many things to address on this thread:
1. OD26: White people do not hate discussing race issues...the notion of political correctness is what, i believe, has made it difficult to find a comfortable forum to have an open and honest discussion. i was raised in a fairly diverse environment where, fortunately for me, it was not a problem. it wasnt until i attended college that i realized how uncomfortable a lot of white people were discussing issues of race for fear of being offensive or perceived as racist.
2. Do we even know these two are an item and that these are their true ages? i think we all know MTO's accuracy. Even if they are a couple, perhaps they are in puppy love over their shared love and interests in some nerdy harry potter sh*it or chess.
the Genarlow Wilson case is a prime example of racism that is alive and well in this country, not to mention, one of the saddest and infuriating legal cases out there right now. However, as i stated before, there is no confirmation on their ages, whether or not they are an item and there is no sex tape of these two. last time i checked, it is not illegal to spend time with someone and show light affection in a photograph. once all that is confirmed, then the genarlow wilson case becomes a debatable, relatable point.

In the State of California, can a 14yr old be made to pay child support, or put in jail if he fails to. If so, and I was Will, I would tell her and her family up front, that I will not be funding or supporting any chldren that may come from this relationship (I hope they use protection). That's what Johnny Carson did when his son got in child support trouble and they tried to look at him for the money, since he was the grandfather. And that is right! When should grandparents be made to pay for their children's actions. Now I am sure I would want to support my grandbaby, but only in the way I would as a normal grandparent. They better check into that.

We are proud of who we are. We are not always proud of what SOME of our people do, but we don't abandon them. We try to educate and uplift our people. DENIAL has nothing to do with pride. THIS is the problem with blacks DENIAL. I believe that 60% of the prison population is black, and that there are more black men in PRISON than college. There are more black WOMEN in college than black men. The first step to getting help when you have a problem is acknowledging it. When you are dying you go to a Hospital and get help. You do not sit at home in a pool of blood and say that everything is okay and wish for the best. While there are PLENTY of black people doing really well, there is a HUGE majority of them that aren't. Ninja, I agree, but I think there are factors that contribute to your statistics, first let's place the blame on these women. Women you have achoice in determining who yu will date have sex with etc. Stop getting duped by loosers, whatever race, second the judicial system, enough said. Using fact to say more black men are in prison, without considering the reason behind, is not a god look at all. I participate in a state program to hire people with records, felonies and misdemeanors. I cannot tell you how many black men come in with shi* that should not be on their record, they either had a crab azz lawyer, or public defender. Many times it is not about the crime, but who you know, and who will help yout get out of a situation, 30% of the black guys have misdemeanors that if they had good representation would be no cases. Next once in the system, especially black men, you can cancel the idea of getting a job, so eventually after getting doors slammed, you sometimes revert to old activity, not making excuses, but some issues ninja, just are not that cut and dry. As a black woman you should try as hard as possible to avoid labels and stereotypes. I am actually in school to become a Physicians Assistant, I have a 2005 car, not new but I am a student so I don't have a lot of money. I have a decent job, and my own apartment without section 8. I am sorry to hear what happened to your brother that is really messed up. I was out of line with some of the things I said yesterday. I didn't mean to say a lot of those things but I felt like I was being attacked, so in return I became defensive. You not only attacked me saying that my future career was worthless, my car garbage, and that I live in a garage. You even attacked the Peace Corp which has helped millions of people over the years. Even in times of war that doesn't mean that peace is null and void. People will ALWAYS need help, whether it's 1970 or 2007. You attacked Greg Mathis by saying that he isn't a real Judge, and yes he is a REAL Judge; a retired one but real. If you are going to attack people like that you can't expect to get anything good in return. I should have been the bigger person and not stooped to your level of insults, but as I mentioned I am only human. I got a lot of $hit for the things I said which was expected. I understand its still very hard for a lot of black folks to talk about these issues, and we rather just sweep them under a rug. A lot of successful blacks feel as though because they have "made it" then all must be well with everyone else which isn't always the case. I don't deserve to be chastised because I have been through a lot in my life, I am from a very bad place, but I still am doing the best I can to suceed. @ beautifulone- I did not immediately go to the defense about the fact that he may be dating a white girl. I feel like the most important part of the story is not the different races, but more so the illegal relationship. He is 14 (a minor) and she is 18. She should go to jail if the story were true (which it's probably not). I have a friend that I grew up with and when he was 16 he got a bl** job from a girl that was 14, they did not even have sex. He did 4 years with no previous criminal record. Second is because whenever people see a white girl with a black man they want to call us all gold diggers and every other name, and say we are taking all the men. People need to realize that some people like others for who they are not what they have or what color their skin is.
