I guess your right, thats the same problem with Justin, they only sold over 3 million in the US, outside they're groups but times are different in 99-01 the biggest groups were Backstreet Boys, Nsync, TLC, DC and a couple Rock Bands. But to me Christina A. got it the worse becuz her new album only sold 1.5 million in the US. In 99 she sold about 8 million. |

Why should you expect Matthew to put half of his life savings into her album. He did his job. He booked Kelly on all the shows Bey was on 106 TRL GMA, The View etc! Her performances sucked. Matthew cant perform the songs for her on stage. She exhausted and passed out on stage, she dont even work half as hard as Beyonce when it comes to performin and promoting her project. In this week's Hip-Hop & R&B Charts, Common scores his first No. 1, Sean Kingston debuts strong and T.I. keeps things popping.
Debuting at No.1 this week for the first time in his fourteen year career is Chicago rapper Common with his seventh album Finding Forever. According to Nielsen's SoundScan, the album shifted 155,300 copies in its opening week.
Jamaican Sean Kingston enters at No. 6 with his self titled debut. The set, which features appearances from Vybz Kartel and Kardinal Offishal, scans 74,700 discs in its first week out.
Dropping three spots to No. 8 doesn't stop T.I. from keeping cash registers ringing. T.I. Vs T.I.P scans 55,300 discs this week. After five weeks, the album has sold 857,500 copies.
Fergie continues to show off her dominance as The Dutchess shelves off 53,300 discs this week. The album's tally stands at 2,384,100.
Prince, who debuted at No. 3 last week, slips eight slots to No. 11. Planet Earth nets 39,000 units this week, bringing the album's total sales to 134,900.
'Posted at No. 12 is Amy Winehouse. Back To Black is a foot away from platinum with its total sales standing at 988,900 . The set shelled out 38,300 copies this week.
Rihanna, who stands at No. 16, attains gold status this week by pushing 30, 200 units. Thus far, Good Girl Gone Bad has sold 517,700 copies.
T-Pain refuses to budge from the No. 19 spot. Epiphany sells 27,500 copies this week, pushing the album's total sales 528,500.
Timbaland's ascent on the charts continues as he rises three spots to No. 26. After 15 weeks , Shock Value has sold a total of 514,300 discs with 22,900 representing the week-in total.
Nine spots below is Justin Timberlake at No. 35. FutureSex/Love Sounds racks up 18,900 units this week, pushing the album's total sales to 3,467,000.
Fabolous slides two spots to No. 37, From Nothin' To Somethin' lugs in 18,800 copies this week. To date, the album has sold a total of 379,400.
Chillin' at No. 40 is Ne-Yo, Because Of You dials in 18,300 copies this week, pushing the album's tally to 719,699.
R. Kelly stalls six slots to No. 42. Double Up cashes out 17,300 units this week. So far, the album has sold 792,800.
Robin Thicke slumps twenty spots to No. 44. Evolution Of Robin Thicke reins in 17,000 copies this week , pushing the album's total sales to 1,346, and 100.
Akon floats up one level to No. 51. Konvicted hauls in 13,600 units this week. The album has brought in a total of 2,570,000 after thirty eight weeks on the charts.
Debuting at No. 52 is Keith Murray with his fifth album Rap-Murr-Phobia. The album, which features appearances from Erick Sermon, Redman and Tyrese, shells out 13,000 copies in its opening week.
Further down at No. 67 is Chrisette Michele. I Am ropes in 10,400 units this week. To date, the album's has sold a total of 92,500. Right behind her are the Shop Boyz at No. 68. Rockstar Mentality shelved off 10,300 copies this week. Thus far, the album has sold 156,200 copies.
Beyonce staggers five spots to No, 71. B' Day sold 10,100 copies this week, bringing the album's total sales to 2,827,800. Hanging tough at No. 75 is Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Strength & Loyalty cashes out 9,900 discs this week. The album's tally stands at 372,000.
Plunging forty six spots to No. 78 is Yung Berg. Almost Famous scans 9,700 discs this week, pushing the album's sales to 29,300 sold. Kelly Rowland's ride on the charts seems to be running out of gas as she putters twenty two seats to No. 80. Ms. Kelly only moves 9,600 copies this week. After five weeks, the album has sold a total of 161,600 copies.
Debuting at No. 84 is Kia Shine with his debut album Due Season. The set, which features appearances from Jim Jones, 8Ball and MJG, shifts 9,400 copies in its first spin on the charts. Wrapping up the top 100 is Corrine Bailey Rae at No. 87. Her self titled album has sold 1, 649, 900 thus far with 9, 300 representing the week-in total.

I haven't heard the album yet, and I don't have a copy either. They play that one song to much featuring Eve. But overall I'm glad to see that she has a possitive attitude towards her low sells. Most of the time when celebrities get all worked up because their album didn't sell as many copies as they thought it would they get stressed out and depressed. So it's good to see her still smiling about everything. And I'm also glad to see she's ok considering when she fainted on stage during her performance. |

Not so sure if I agree with you, Matthew is still her manager. Just as he puts interest in his own child, he should also put the same stock in Kelly. When she makes money, he makes money. I agree with you that her performances are definitely not up to par, but...like Diddy (can't stand his a/s/s, but that's another rant in itself) when his artists need something he makes sure they get it. I'm sure Matthew has choreographers, stylists, etc. What I am saying is if he puts into her half of what he puts into Bey should could and would be succesfful. Beyonce works, performs and promotes her CD's and projects, because she has his backing.
What it comes down to is she needs better management someone who is going to support her interest instead of their own (Matthew Knowles)

Lets say this, If Mathhew puts 7 Million dollars of Beyonce's hard earn money LOL, Into Kelly's project and she sells less than 100,000 her first week, they both Lose Matthew and Kelly. Anyway, Kelly needs to stop fooling herself and get a better management team, person, manager, whatever. She has so much potential, why allow someone to CONSTANTLY short change you when you could have so much. Her last album sucked, I haven't heard the new album but the new single is WACK, unoriginal and boring. It would have been smart after doing that duo joint with Nelly to come out with a new r & b album then. I'm not sure why Matthew Knowles is not managing her properly because next to Beyonce, she has the potential to be one of the hottest r& b singers. As long as she keeps being managed by Ike Turner, she will continue to be under Beyonce's shadow and will never really shine. Poor girl. |

Beyonce has talent but 50% of it is marketing and alot of it is her looks. Now Kelly is "cute" but that doesn't sell records and her talent is not up to par because all those years Matthew was developing them, she didn't work hard. She figured that since she knew the right people, she could "get by" But she never expected Beyonce to do so well and when she did, she panicked because she knew she tried to skate the whole time. Plus she has no passion for the industry. And that video she has, anybody could have done that! I do give props to Beyonce for trying to help her boost sales though. |

Wow...there are some very negative comments here. But, let me say I do own the CD and I believe it's on fire! I think Kelly put her all into this CD and she should be proud of it. Ghetto is just fire! I also love Work, Still in Love With My Ex, Addicted to You, and Comeback. Those songs are ALL HOT. I think Kelly really did the darn thing with this album imo. But, her stage performances are lacking. I'm rooting for her though. She can sing, and she does have talent. When she performs with DC her performances are dead on...it's only in solo that she falls short. She's working on her confidence. I'm always rooting for the underdog. Personally, I think someone like Be who has always had the world handed to them on a silver platter will be alright. I'm always voting for the ones who have had to work hardest for it. Kelly keep doing your thing lady...some of us do believe in you! As far as Be, she works super hard as a performer, not taking that from her, however, she's no more talented than Kelly, she's just always had people telling her she was. Then they are telling her she's the most beautiful (having the more european features)...that made her confidence soar. Kelly is equally beautiful. But, Kelly was always taking a backseat to Be. They had both taken their roles, Be as the Queen Be, and Kelly was comfortable for a while being in her shadow where she was placed by the Knowles' first, and by the DC fans, and by American society in general. I don't think Kelly is content being in Be's shadow any longer. I think she's going to breakout. But, I do agree with some of ya'll...unfortunately controversy sells. So, Kelly may need a little more of it in order to truly break out of Be's shadow. Anyway it goes I'm pulling for you Kelly. I love you girl! |
