: MediaTakeOut.com is sad to report that legendary Houston rapper Big Moe, whose real name is Kenneth Moore, suffered a massive heart attack. And early reports are not looking good. Big Moe is currently in a coma - clinging to life.
For those of you not familiar with Big Moe, here's a brief synopsis of his work:
Unlike most of the Houston rappers, who tended to offer a harder approach like hardcore or gangsta style, Kenneth offered a slow and calm style. He both raps and sings called rappsinging, and his producers craft smooth, melodic tracks that bounce along at a leisurely pace.Like many of the Houston based rapper Big Moe began his career freestyling and making flows on DJ Screw's mix tapes before going to Wreckshop Records. Wreckshop Records released the Big Moe's debut album, City of Syrup in (2000), the title nodding to Houston's reputation for drinking codeine-laced syrup, which Moe pours from a Styrofoam cup on the album's cover.
"City of Syrup" album featured his single, "Mann!" that Moe intended to be the South Side's answer to Black Rob's East Coast hit "Whoa!". After a year and half later, Moe returned with his second album, Purple World in (2002). It offered a who's who ensemble of Houston vocalists, two versions of Moe's breakthrough single, "Purple Stuff." Priority Records distributed the album, ensuring that it would be everywhere, from the street corners of Houston to the Wal-Marts of suburban America.
Even MTV gave Moe's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory-themed video a few rotations. He has been featured in songs with Mike Jones, Z-Ro, Lil' O, Southside Playaz, and Big Pokey. Big Moe was also in talks to make appearances in the up and coming cartoon series Pablo and Victor where he will play himself.

I'll say it for you mistiblue. Drinking syrup is not healthy!!! If one indulges in it then they can't be shocked in the least when they have strokes or hear attacks. You would have thought they'd learned from screw but ..... Then again whenever they came up with that stupid way to get high they didn't know the problems that would come down the road. So the damage was already done when they found out the dangers. It would be unfortunate if he did have a heart attack, however it is because of his own actions. People want to get upset when we don't treat this as a national tragedy. Do we cry ucontrollably when crakheads die by the dozens? Same thing. Drugs for recreational use lead to health problems. We know this so when people partake then they trade their health for a high ... thats their choice and us getting upset doesnt change that. Also, we know that being morbidly obese makes us prone to heart disease, diabetes, High BP, etc. SO we should exercise and eat halthy to counter that .... yet every cheeseburger, fried chicken wing, etc puts us closer to the line.... thats a choice. You can pick up a salad as easily as you can a 3 pc with fries!!! This would warrant more compassion if this had been someone who lived a healthy lifestyle free of drugs and bad eating haits and they did what they could to be healthy but still had this fate. Not someone who used one of the ost dangerous drugs ever and then promoted its use in their songs so other idiots would think it was okay and now they are dropping like flies ... not sorry ... it is unfortunate though.
I CANNOT BELIEVE some of the comments idiotic people have put on here. Someone's friend and family member is at the very least gravely ill...At the very worst, he is dead...What goes around comes around..When someone close to you dies, I hope people disrespect you like you have done Big Moe. Whether you heard of him or not, we in H-Town love him!!! I also am concerned that there is no info on how he is doing on the internet....I am praying for Kenneth Moore the Bar Baby AKA The purple Chef and his family.

Big Moe was a Legend not only in the that great state of TX, but in the south, period. It's tragic that his lack of knowledge on effects of syrup and diet contributed to his demise. he will be missed along with his other SUC brethren. FAT PAT, DJ SCREW, H.A.W.K., BIG STEVE. Im from the bayou but had an appreciation for that screwed up movement. They set trends. Sideside We Roll On Choppers and June 27th will remain in effect. R.I.P.
