Okay Sweetie, once again you have danced ALL around the point. Instead of gettin all vulgar, if you expressed yourself in an educated manner, you would be heard by a lot more people. However, that's not my problem. All I'm tryin to say is this: it is more common for lighter shaded people to get "special" treatment over darker shades than poorer treatment. I'm not saying that your struggle for equality is ALOT easier, but it is a little. W.E.B Dubois used his fairer skin to his advantage. He got into an actual UNIVERSITY when we as a people were still fighting for the right to vote. That was a powerful thing. He accepted the way things were even back then and you won't even accept it NOW.
On a personal note, my x boyfriend's mother who is Creole, didn't wanna meet me at first b/c she knew I wasn't light-skinned. Unfortunately, there are just ignorant people out there.
I understand how you feel about Tamika. She is not the most glamorous woman in Hollywood, but I would never say she was ugly. I would say the same thing about Tiny. I wouldn't say she is less attractive than Tomika b/c she is light-skinned either. That is your opinion and you're entitled to it.
I just wanted you to look at things in different ways instead of instantly taking offense to the issue. |

I agree with a lot of the comments from realwoman, jay AND VooDoo. It's a shame but if Usher's wife was light-skinned w/long hair none of us would have had anything to say. If ush was with a fresh brown-skinnd chick we may not be tripping...or would we? With Tameka i think it goes a little deeper. Tameka's whole demo was jacked...her age & the kids, the HUSBAND & crime background...all that made her unattractive.
