there are alot of folks who should have been arrested. the school system and the teachers should be arrested for letting this child get all the way to the 12th grade and she has the public speaking skills of a 4th grader--they should be arrested. her parents should be arrested too. a "custom made dress?" why wasn't she supervised and advised while making the frock? FINALLY her parents should be given a citation for letting their teenager walk out of the house looking like a street walker.
so there you have it. 2 arrests and a citation.
They should arrest her mama also for letting that child go out the house like that. I don't know when and where it became appropriate to dress like a hooker to school and the prom. These parents need to start parenting these kids and setting examples instead of trying to be their friend and let the government dictate what you can and can not do to their child.
The dress was very inappropriate. I just hope that the school made it clear what was considered inappropriate and what wasn't before the prom. I graduated in 1997 and I had a couple of classmates wear very similiar get-ups to the prom way back then. I think it is sad she was not able to attend her own prom though. Wish she would have had some alternative.
How in the world could she think that dress is okay for a prom!!?? No guidance, no hometraining, no scruples, no morals, no common sense. She needs a good strong female mentor in her life. I refuse to belive that this girl has parents anywhere around, she must be in the foster system or something because is she does have parents and they saw her dressed this way and let her out the house they need to be RUNG UP! The dress is basically tissue paper. What a shame, what a shame.
@ladytee35 I totally agree with you...That girl's parents should be arrested for letting her go out looking like that...however for young Black girls today, it's just hard for them if they don't have good role models and mentors in their life to help them figure it all out...That girl has clearly raised herself...and it's probably not her fault...A baby was raised by a baby probably...I feel sorry for that girl, for whatever reason life dealt her a shaky hand...That's why so many of our young Black girls today are being exploited because "no one is raising them", and they have to make decisions for themselves the best way they know how---they have to turn to the streets for knowledge...it's a sad, sad, day.
Way to screw up this girls life before it even gets started! To get arrested over a dress, is unreal. I am getting a little sick of them arresting blacks for any and every little thing, especially our children. It was not necessary to take that type of action, this young lady didn't fail the school system did.
As an Ed. Specialist, it disturbs me to see what these parents allow their daughters to do. No one mentioned that big azz tatoo on her chest. I have many students with gold teeth, and tatoos on their necks. When I ask them, how did they sneak and get it, they say their mommas took them.
It also is a sad day to continue to see our youth become sexualized at a young age. All of these rappers such as PLIES, LIL WAYNE, SOULJA BOY etc. should be held accountable for the lyrics they rap. Really, who wants a 5 year old walking around singing "BUSS IT BABY."
o well, what a way 2 screw up 1 of the most important days of a young person life. she must have thought that they would've let her get away with dat, but she had something to prove. all she needed to do was cover up her stomach. i think her not being allowed 2 prom was punishment enough (and even then she could have been given another chance to change), i think she should have went home instead of acting like a rat. these girls now a days don't realize how costly a mistake can be. i hope this doesn't affect her being allowed to march in the graduation.
That dress was tacky as hell!!!! And then she got mad because no one wanted to go along with that stupidity. She should have gotten escorted out because she knows that is inappropriate and goes against the school's and society's dress code.
And for the record, she got arrested for distrubing the peace not because of the dress even though that should have been tacked onto her charges. She looks like she is loud and ignorant.
@MARTINALUTHERKING- they didn't screw up her life, SHE did. First by not adhering to the rules that was given. Secondly, then by making a stink because the school decided that they weren't going to let her get away with skirting the rules. Thirdly by demanding her money back because SHE thought she was above the rules. You know that this little trick got mad and loud and probably had no respect to any of the ADULTS they were enforcing the SCHOOLS GUIDELINES , and that's why the police were called, they didn't just arrest her for nothing, this girl got ghetto and SHE ruined her life.
This is the problem with our younger generation now, they feel like rules don't apply to them, then you have the dumb azz adults who defend the fact that they shouldn't have to abide by rules and we have a generation of kids who walk around with a sense of entitlement and hierarchy.
They didn't arrest her for wearing her "hooker" dress. They arrested her for getting out of control when she was asked to leave the prom. Common sense (which she obviously doesn't have) should have told her you don't walk out of the door looking like that unless your job is the oldest profession. Her mom AND HER DAD need to get conrol of her if it's not too late.
And someone should have dragged her momma in too! Trifling azz! You know I don't know where this younger generation is headed but uh....BET has fried the mind of the youngins. I mean damn....no class, no couth no nuffin. I was just out with my girlfriends this Saturday and I mean I have never seen 6 pregnant girls in a club at one time before? Is this a new trend. I was aghast. We just went out to support a friend who was throwing a party and I mean these young chicks...were just scandalous. The outfits, the conduct. I have been traumatized. I can't go out no mo!
Since when has prom attire gone from having the classiest dress to wearing the dress that will get the most attention? Yes, the dress was inappropriate. In order to have a custom made dress, then obviously one or both of her parents would have had to see, approve, and pay for it. Apparently, neither she nor her parents expected that it would be a problem.
The situation was blown out of proportion by having her in handcuffs, when a warning would suffice. Then again, I have no idea how she was acting inside or what the police policy may be. In the future, the school, if it does not already, should inform the students of what can and cannot be worn. The fee is usually non-refundable, so I don't the school returning her money.
Why are these young girls in such a hurry to grow up? The dress was inappropriate, BUT, maybe the school should have send notices home beforehand to ensure nothing like this happened. On second thought, it's not really the school's job to teach these young women that looking like dime store hookers isn't cute. I mean, why the hell would her MOM allow this sort of thing? WTF did she think she was attending?...a "Pimps Up...Ho's Down" convention?
Maybe her mom wasn't around. Or she's dead or something. Ever think about that people? She said the only two choices given to her was going to jail or going home. So she obviously chose jail. That shows her decision making skills right there. What about the choice of calling a parent or guardian? Guess that never crossed her little mind. What a shame and a disgrace.
The girl didnt get arrested for wearing that crazy outfit...she got arrested for creating a scene and disturbing the peace when she wasnt allowed to enter... Irregardless of all that, the girl looked a HOT-@!! mess.. What parent in their right mind would let their child out of the house looking like that?? Then she's making herself look even worse, when reporters at CNN asked her to model the dress for them....making the video the most viewed on cnn.com today.....And the scariest part is, the girl really didnt see anything wrong with what she was wearing... Is this where the next generation of our young black women is headed?? I guess in about 5 years, someone will show up naked... Oh and by the way, whoever designed that mess of a dress, whatever money they got for it, was too much....It looked like it was designed by Stevie Wonder......
She looked liked she just got busted for prostitution in that picture with her in handcuffs.
Somebody needs to slap the sh!t out of her momma and daddy for letting her out the house like that, and for raising a child that believes this dress is appropriate.
And, no she doesnt deserve her money back. Its her own damn fault she couldnt get in. Its a lesson learned for this ghetto azz, trashy azz, stupid azz, gutter azz, h0e.
But, I'll bet you she didnt learn sh!t
She did NOT get arrested for her dress, she got arrested for her attitude. She knew the dress code, she chose not to follow it, and then had the audacity to ask for her money back. I am all for Black pride, but she played herself then wanted to act ignorant. Totally unacceptable behavior. I am glad someone stood up for dignity & respect.
She should have went to Burger King instead of the prom...then she could have had it her way!
I hope she now understands and respect school rules!!!!!
she knew the dress code and they tell you way in advance but i guess she figured once she was in the building nothing could be done. she is straight up a hood rat.... sorry because i try not to call my black women as such but come on.... how she didn't know this was too much? im sure someone said it to her and she was like what? watch me!
OK, that was not a "dress". I agree that she should not have been allowed to enter the venue. This girl knew exactly what she was doing when she chose that outfit. She just wanted to defy the rules. I applaud her school's officials for standing up and not allowing that crap from yet another knuckle-headed kid who thinks that they can do whatever they want with no consequences or accountability. And, if her conduct in public was disorderly, she deserved to be arrested. I'm glad she felt embarrassed, because her clothing choice, her atrocious behavior, and her poor grammar are an embarrassment to her family, her school, classmates, and community.
Forget the dress being inappropriate it was UGLY as hell. It looked like a table runner with suspenders. She should be happy no one let her capture that get up with timeless prom photos.
She was tacky from the hair to the tattoo on down to the tounge ring and she couldn't even speak in a complete sentence on camera she knew that camera man was coming why didn't she fix her hair.
I remember when prom night meant being classy and sophisticated.
Yeahright3030 How dare u single out the people of New Orleans. WHENEVER you past judgement on someone like that you just open up yourself an opportunity to experience what they experienced or something worse. life is too short. I have met people from different areas of the world. some maybe a little more intelligent then others. But I have never judged someone based on where they are from. how immature. You need Jesus. As for the little girl, my heart goes out to her and I pray that she finds someone who can really show her real class and what a appropriate custom-made prom dress looks like. I hope she learned a valuable lesson and I hope people that know her will be real enough to show her a better way if they are able to and not condone this foolishness.
She prolly was raised by grandma, bog momma or aunt Gertrude who can't keep up with her. That's what happens when mother's pop out these kids and leave them for the family to raise. What caring mother would let there daughter get tattoos in high school and dress like that. There was no one there to tell her that this was not a classy look. These kids today are doing whatever the hell they wanna do and unfortunately generation x is going to pay for it as a result.
what a stupid, ignorant slut. and the sad part: she'll be pregnant before the year is out. another ghetto baby in the world.
i can't believe that we may have a classy black woman as first lady, and these stupid black girls are pimpin' themselvs out like whores for me. disgusting.
now, if something awful happened to her wearing that slut garb, she would be the first one to scream and cry.
sadly, when you wear something like that, what are you asking for?
Now her mama need her A$$ whooped for lettn her consider wearing that dress in the first place...i was watchin dat on da news an i told my 7yr old daughter...LISTEN LIL MAMA..NEVA IN THIS LIFETIME WILL I ALLOW OR TOLERATE YOU WEARING SUMN LIKE THAT ANYWHERE...SHE WAS SAID "I KNOW MOMMY" LOL...Some parents need to go back to the root of parenting, cause not only do you have to raise a child, but you have to teach an train, an by the looks of this "GUTTER RAT" she has not been taught or trained...SHE LOOK SO STANK!
