Well I am going to say this for people who tend to think folks are jumping on the "Obama" bandwagon...I am a Democrat...I come from a Democratic family...I've also voted in the last two presidential elections and I voted for the Dem choice both times and eventhough I was too young to vote for Bill Clinton, I still supported him...So just because people are extra excited because our Dem pres nominee happens to be a minority/Black does not mean they are jumping on the bandwagon...They may relate more to him and may be inspired by him...He is just getting more press from mostly Black sites/stations because he is Black...So I think that is an unfair thing to say...because I and I'm sure alot of others on here, aren't Repub...I hate to see people go there when in fact, Blacks/minorities have been voting for Whites for decades even if they weren't sure about what they really stood for...But now that a Black man is running who most Blacks/minorities feel they can relate better to, it's being negatively associated with jumping on the bandwagon...

I just watched the video of her in Feb.08 a month before the baby was born and she hike from her home to the office in 5 inch heels drinking coffee and was saying how she jogs everyday and at the end eating chocolate. I dont think some of yall realize how big a deal this is. I do voter registration drives for Obama in KY and Im here to tell yall it aint guaranteed he'd gonna win. People around here aint tryna have a black President and there are way more white people than black ones. A lot of them SAY they will vote for Obama, but really wont when it comes down to it.
On this story, I hope it is true. A 44 year old woman is automatically considered high risk in pregnancy. Traveling a month before a due date would not be advised by any OB doctor worth their title. Then if she started leaking amniotic fluid and didn't go to a hospital to be examined, that would further put the mother and child at risk. A telephone conversation would not have been sufficient to advise a high risk pregnant woman that it would be ok for her to give a 30 minute speech, get driven to the airport and then fly 3000 miles (while she was in labor) to Alaska to have her baby. This whole story smacks of lies lies lies. If the rumors are true and her daughter did have this child, Governor Palin should have just told the truth. Everybody would have had a great deal more respect and empathy for her than if she lied about it.

Hillary's been an advocate for women and children for the past 30 years. She even lead a student coalition to monitor the murder trial of Bobby Seale, a Black Panther, to ensure that his civil rights were being upheld. Hillary's been in the civil rights struggle longer than Obama. She's done more for black people than Obama, but I suppose none of that matters because she's not black. |

When Palin chooses to go back to work after giving birth is irrelevant and has no bearing on whether or not she was pregnant. If that and your other remarks are the best evidence you can provide to substantiate this rumor, then you have no credibility. And look at that, you now know of at least one woman of a certain age that went to work three days after giving birth. Her name is Sarah Palin, since you can't seem to present any concrete evidence to the contrary.
I see you couldn't answer my question about Obama's executive experience (surprise, surprise). And Ronald Reagan didn't make the jump from actor to President, btw. You're forgetting that he was elected twice as the Governor of California beforehand and made several failed attempts to secure the Republican Party nomination before finally succeeding in 1980. You are right, as of now, it is a rumor, and considering now that it is coming out.... we may never know the truth about the baby's mother because someone is gonna pay someone off to make some false documents and cover it up (possibly), but how can Mccain be so sneaky and use someone who doesnt even know about beind a VP (and obviously a liar) to be his running mate. PREPARING FOR HURRICANES
Step 1: Get A Kit

Step 2: Make a Plan
Prepare your family
• Make a Family Emergency Plan. Your family may not be together when disaster strikes, so it is important to know how you will contact one another, how you will get back together and what you will do in case of an emergency
• Plan places where your family will meet, both within and outside of your immediate neighborhood.
• It may be easier to make a long-distance phone call than to call across town, so an out-of-town contact may be in a better position to communicate among separated family members.
• You may also want to inquire about emergency plans at places where your family spends time: work, daycare and school. If no plans exist, consider volunteering to help create one.
• Plan to Evacuate
o Identify ahead of time where your family will meet, both within and outside of your immediate neighborhood.
o Identify several places you could go in an emergency, a friend's home in another town, a motel or public shelter.
o If you do not have a car, plan alternate means of evacuating.
o If you have a car, keep a half tank of gas in it at all times in case you need to evacuate.
o Take your Emergency Supply Kit.
o Take your pets with you, but understand that only service animals may be permitted in public shelters. Plan how you will care for your pets in an emergency.
• Take a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class from your local Citizen Corps chapter. Keep your training current.
Step 3: Be Informed
Familiarize yourself with the terms that are used to identify a hurricane.
• A hurricane watch means a hurricane is possible in your area. Be prepared to evacuate. Monitor local radio and television news outlets or listen to NOAA Weather Radio for the latest developments.
• A hurricane warning is when a hurricane is expected in your area. If local authorities advise you to evacuate, leave immediately.
• Hurricanes are classified into five categories based on their wind speed, central pressure, and damage potential. Category Three and higher hurricanes are considered major hurricanes, though Categories One and Two are still extremely dangerous and warrant your full attention.
• Hurricanes can produce widespread torrential rains. Floods are the deadly and destructive result. Slow moving storms and tropical storms moving into mountainous regions tend to produce especially heavy rain. Excessive rain can trigger landslides or mud slides, especially in mountainous regions. Flash flooding can occur due to intense rainfall. Flooding on rivers and streams may persist for several days or more after the storm. Prepare Your Home
• Cover all of your home's windows with pre-cut ply wood or hurricane shutters to protect your windows from high winds.
• Plan to bring in all outdoor furniture, decorations, garbage cans and anything else that is not tied down.
• Keep all trees and shrubs well trimmed so they are more wind resistant.
• Secure your home by closing shutters, and securing outdoor objects or bringing them inside.
• Turn off utilities as instructed. Otherwise, turn the refrigerator thermostat to its coldest setting and keep its doors closed.
• Turn off propane tanks.
• Ensure a supply of water for sanitary purposes such as cleaning and flushing toilets. Fill the bathtub and other large containers with water.

Listen to Local Officials

I thought he put "Country First," not from this pick he didn't. Even her own state representatives, Rep. and Dem. say she can't govern. WTF! Can Obama deliver the world, nope! Not asking him to, but if he can enact but a few of the policies he proposes I believe I, my family, and this country will be better for it! That is why I support Obama, because of his proposed policies! That is what I have in common with him!
As far as his church, hey I agree with Rev. Wright! You are talking to the wrong one! He spoke the truth regardless if you wanted to hear it or not. Ironically, it is funny that the media only played snippets of the sermons, but if you listen to the entire thing, as I have, it is less offensive and would have probably received far less attention. Regardless, I attend church not as radical as Obama's, but I don't agree with everything that is said and I don't feel compelled to. The pastor or preacher is only one aspect of the church experience, and you don't have to subscribe to everything that is said in the pulpit to be a member of the congregation. To put this into even a better prospective, how often do you really believe a state legislator will be in church in one given year. Certainly it is not every Sunday, or even close to it? Cmon! Do you honestly believe that Wright preached about nothing but "kill whitey" every Sunday for 20 years! He must be more talented than I thought if he is able to do this without being redundant. Maybe I should join!
As far as drug use, hey Bill did them, and Bush did them! Why is it such a big deal now? He hasn't used drugs since he was a teenager and if he has he is doing a damn good job fooling the physicians who examined him.

All your talking are "half-assed" to say the least. Your assertion that having Palin on the ticket is somehow going to make it easier for McCain to drill at ANWR is ridiculous and unfounded. Just because she supports his position doesn't mean she has any power to do anything about it, nor would Palin or McCain automatically be able to mandate drilling if they were to win. That's like saying that Obama will be able to cut taxes on his own, if he gets into office. He can't do that without the House and Senate, and the same can be said about McCain drilling in ANWR. And let's not pretend that Obama himself isn't reserving the option. He changed his stance quick against drilling in ANWR from being totally against it, to entertaining it as a possibility shortly after the primary season concluded, just as he changed his stance on opting out of public funding for his campaign as soon as it was convenient.
If black candidates are the only ones that have their credentials challenged, as you assert, then why did people challenge Hillary's credentials? Why is the media buzzing about Palin's limited credentials? Everyone challenged George W.'s lack of experience when he first ran. All of the foreign policy gotcha questions and what not.
And Palin balances McCain's ticket in more ways than one. McCain doesn't kowtow to the religious right. She's seen as very conservative. Palin has executive experience. McCain doesn't because he's a Senator. McCain has foreign policy and national security credentials in spates? Palin doesn't. She's young. He's old. She's a woman. He's a man. He's rich. She's not. Stop pretending as if Obama wasn't doing the same in trying to fill in holes in his ticket by asking an old, white man, with foreign policy experience to run with him. And what does Obama laying out his "plan" have to do with him having no executive experience? Any politician can draw up a plan.
If calling you out for having no concrete evidence to support your flimsy theory that Palin's daughter, rather than Palin, was pregnant, other than unsubstantiated rumors, this picture above, other photos from whatever liberal site, and how quickly she went back to work, makes me a planted negro, then oh well. It's as if you have no shame and can't see how low it is to drag politician's underage children into political debates and then turn around and try to claim the moral high ground. If being a "planted negro" means that I'm a thinking person, rather than someone who indulges in your ignorance, then so be it. 1) news today is that mccain has only known her for six months and that he has only spoken with her ONCE concerning the VP position. can anyone explain that to me?
2) her qualifications are not there. yes, she is governor of a state (for about 20 months) but it’s a state with a population of just over 600,000 people, even though its the largest state in the US. Rhode Island, the smallest state, has almost double the population of Alaska. And yes, she did beat a incumbent governor to win the election. So what. The people were sick of him. To me that just tells me that the old governor wasn’t pulling his weight and the people were ready for a change. It doesn’t tell me jack about her.
3) McCain is old. He is 72 years old and has battled cancer 4 times? There is a very good chance that if he is elected, that the VP will have to step in at some point during the next four years. I don’t feel that she has the experience to lead the country. People may say that about Obama and while you might be right, the fact is that Obama was voted in by the PEOPLE of this country to respresent his party. Palin was selected by an old man who is clearly not right in his thinking process. There is a big difference in that selection process.
4) the fact that she has 4 children under the age of 17, including one child who is 4 months old and has down syndrome. While I believe that a woman should be able to do any job a man can do, especially if she has a family, sometimes it isn’t fair to the children to put them through the separation, especially the 4 month old baby who probably needs both parents at home for now.
The biggest job a president has is to select the people who will help him along his journey. McCain’s first selection proves that he is off of his rocker!!
While watching her speech, I thought she she seemed nervous and unsure of herself, and she didn’t come off very well. i am sure Palin is a nice woman with strong values, and she could probably compete in an alaska M!LF contest, but i really do not see what she offers mccain or our country.

Judging from some of the comments on this site, there seems to be a stunning lack of critical thought required to be an Obama supporter. All that's required is to declare one's everlasting love for a candidate who rarely makes specific statements with anything of substance to back them up.
Obama is incredibly inexperienced - Palin still has two more years of political experience than he does, but she's only running for VP. This isn't good for Palin, but it's pathetic for Obama. He's a very well-qualified fetus.
Nice words and a smile do not indicate expertise. Will Obama lean on Biden entirely when something other than a charismatic grin is needed? This sounds an awful lot like the Bush-Cheney state of affairs, and we've seen how that works out. How many of the puppet strings will Biden's staff pull? What part of Biden's pet agenda will Obama help fulfill, on the pretext of a holy crusade?
Obama is not black - he shares nothing whatsoever with the group of people we normally consider when we speak of "black Americans". Barack Obama would most closely be defined as a white American.
There is really no way to define what race anyone is a member of - because race is an arbitrary social construction used as a classification tool by people who are not interested in getting to know anything about the people they are schluffing off into convenient categories.
Race literally has no meaning other than what we assign to it, and we could easily do without it. |

I believe it can be true, but also people need to realize some pregnancy myths!! I've had three kids, I was bigger in my first pregnancy than i was in my second and Third, actually with my third people didnt know I was pregnant until I hit eight months and I had a big growth spurt. Also the whole thing about her wearing heels, and drinking coffee, and eating chocolate while pregnant, MYTHS!!! I wore heels throughout all three of my pregnancies even to my doctor's appointments, they actually advise against wearing flat soled shoes, they would prefer women didn't wear high heels because of some women instability that having a bigger front can bring but they never said DONT! The experts have also said that drinking 2 cups of coffee a day will not cause effects on the baby as well as eating chocolate and I have done all these things through each pregnancy resulting in happy healthy children! I'm not putting anything past McCain and his new puppet, but I'm not gonna totally say its true based on these facts and pictures.

That means that if something happens to John McCain (and let's be real... the man is 72 years-old and has had melanoma SEVERAL times, so there is at least a possibility that something could happen to him) THIS woman is next in line to be President of these United States. That means that Sarah Pallin will be Commander-in-Chief and regulate all Executive level decision-making, such as foreign policy, defense, taxation and the economy.
This woman was mayor of a small town in Alaska, and has been Governor of Alaska for two years. She has no foreign policy experience and no experience on the federal government level AT ALL (at least Obama is United States Senator). How does her resume (or lack of it) make her any more qualified to be the leader of the Free World (America) than Barack Obama??
In addition, if Sarah Pallin is lying and covering up about issues in her personal life, it's likely that she would lie and cover up issues important to American citizens with no problem. Also, with all the outright lying, cheating, scamming, snooping, fear mongering, recession and wastefulness that we have had in the past eight years (count them... I think this story is true. Nothing about her pregnancy adds up. If you read her wikipedia page and listen to what Mccain said, its clear that girl had that baby.
1.) She was holding the baby at the announcement of her vice pres. nom.
2.)She announced that she was pregnant a month before she gave birth, to her co-workers' surprise.
3.)After her water broke, on the day of Trig's (the baby) delivery, Palin delivered a keynote address in Texas and then flew 8 hours to Alaska. Women in their 3rd trimester aren't supposed to fly. And I doubt that a woman in labor would want to wait 8 hrs. before she could get to a hospital.
4.)Palin returned to office quickly, just three days after giving birth to Trig. There is no way. Even Heidi Klum took longer to return to work after giving birth.
So yeah. Not too far fetched. |

BABYGATE TIME-LINES....
Early Friday morning at 4:00am, Sarah began leaking amniotic fluid.
Instead of checking into a hospital, she instead made a call to her doctor, and delivered the keynote speech.
"I was not going to miss that speech," she says.
She rushed so quickly from the podium afterwards that Texas Gov. Rick Perry nervously asked if she was about to deliver the baby then.
Instead of rushing to a Dallas medical facility that could treat a mother whose amniotic fluid has been draining for hours on end (made even more crucial due to the fact that this is occurring a full month prematurely), Sarah & Todd instead opted to... fly all the way back from Texas to Alaska. A dangerous choice, as with each pregnancy (once again, in this case after four previous), a mother's window of labor to delivery grows shorter and shorter.
Aboard Alaska Airlines, the flight lasted for eight hours, with an additional landing in Seattle.
The majority of commercial airlines require mothers seven months pregnant to provide a doctor's letter to fly, but Sarah did not inform the airline of her condition. Alaska Airlines is one of the few airlines that do not require such a notice, despite the possibility of an emergency landings being required in such scenarios. That said, no one on board noticed that Sarah was going into labor:
"We leave the decision to fly up to our customers and their medical advisers," according to Alaska Airlines representative Caroline Boren.

"Governor Palin was extremely pleasant to flight attendants and her stage of pregnancy was not apparent by observation as she didn’t show any signs of distress," Boren said.
Eight months pregnant. A 6.2 pound fetus. No one notices a visible trace. By the third trimester, a perfectly fit woman not wearing anything less than a space suit should be easily spotted as pregnant. Not in Sarah's case.
The plane then made a landing in Anchorage, Alaska. Does Sarah then visit a medical facility that can accommodate a premature birth in Alaska's most equipped city?
No.
She drives 45 minutes away, to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, right outside the small village she used to govern as Mayor, Wasilla. Trig Palin is then delivered one month premature, Friday night. Sarah returned to work after three days.
The inherent need to absolutely have Trig delivered in a remote and possibly ill-equipped facility for premature deliveries, where Sarah would likely have numerous contacts and pull, does not sit well.
The doctor, Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, approving of all of these actions borders on malpractice.
Not treating leaking amniotic fluid causes infections, and time is of the essence after water breaks.
Husband Todd Palin simply delivers this winner of a line: "You can't have a fish picker from Texas," said Todd.
Checking with the Anchorage High School that Bristol Palin attended, reporters were given word that her family had taken Bristol out of school due to contracting infectious mononucleosis. The amount of time Bristol was absent shifts from five to eight months.
Mono can last anywhere from two weeks to three months, but an eight month infection is a freak oddity. Yet it remains a common excuse given by girls in private & Catholic schools around the nation when pregnancy comes into play. Not the first time, not the last time.
Furthermore, during the time she had this mono, she got 3 driving citations.
Over the course of seven months, Bristol had three separate driving offenses, one to carry insurance, one for speeding, and another one for a collision.
The collision one, she still failed to carry her insurance...and had expired registration.
"Wasilla Police Department
On February 8, 2008, at 1737 hours, Wasilla Police responded to two vehicle collision at Seward Meridian Parkway and Fireweed Drive. Investigation revealed that Bristol Palin, age 17 of Wasilla, was driving a 4-door sedan and attempted to turn into a business when she struck a 2-door sedan driven by Joshua Moffet, age 19, of Wasilla. Palin was issued a citation for Failing to Use Due Care to Avoid a Collision. Moffet was issued a citation for an expired registration and no proof of insurance."

An obstetrician commented at Talking Points Memo that he has serious issues with Palin's decisions:
"She claims she flew from Texas to Anchorage after she was having contractions and leaking amniotic fluid. This simply doesn't make sense.
I am a physician and I deliver babies (my last delivery was about 36 hours ago).
...
There is very little chance that a 44 year old woman who was pregnant with her fifth child would last 8 hours with ruptured membranes and contractions. Especially when the baby was approximately 4 weeks early; She would have delivered this baby on the plane.
...
Playing the back seat doctor here, my advice would have been get in the car and go to the nearest hospital with a maternity ward. This is called Premature Preterm Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) and it is dangerous.

10:30pm - Palin arrives in Anchorage (approximately 22 hours after membranes ruptured, you start to get worried at 12 hours).
11:30pm - Palin checks into Mat-Su regional in Wasilla, Alaska. (It seems kind of strange that she wouldn't have gone to Providence in Anchorage which has the highest level maternity care in the state. You would want a child with genetic defects to be delivered in a bigger place with more services available.)" |

After landing in Anchorage, Sarah drove past both Providence and Anchorage Regional, facilities ideal for premature deliveries, both are equipped with neonatal intensive care units (NCIU).
The doctor who supposedly approved of Sarah taking such risks, and later delivered Trig? Dr. Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, has since been scrubbed from the Mt-Su Regional Medical Center website. Sarah's relationship with Cathy has formed over the years, and in 2002 (then Mayor) Sarah named her Family Physician of the Year.
In May 2007, (then Governor) Sarah appointed Cathy to the Alaska Health Care Strategies Planning Council.

Mat-Su Regional, the hospital where Trig Palin was delivered, surprisingly does not list Trig on their own list of babies born in that facility for that day of April 18th. A peculiar oddity, as hospitals are usually proud when a local celebrity gives birth within their facility.

ok now that I see this other info about her membranes rupturing and then flying to Alaska which I know takes 8 1/2 hours from Atlanta so I would imagine from texas about 6 to 7 hours, and I know from my births that with my first child when my water broke at 37 weeks I had him 5 1/2 hours later, with my second when my water broke at 38 weeks I had him 4 hours later, with my third child I went into labor at 36 weeks I had him 3 hours later, so I'm really NOT buying this I HAD to give the speech, then fly ALLLLL the way to Alaska pass up TWO hospitals to give birth! I know my hospital was only 15 minutes from my house and I BARELY made it to my hospital! If tat is her daughter's it may help or hurt the campaign ya'll never know, the pro-lifers will probably love how she took responsibility instead of aborting, so don't sleep on this story but the only thing we can really do is get out there and VOTE!!!! |
