Clay felt he had to come out because he didn't want to raise his child in secrecy about his lifestyle. However, I feel differently. He didn't have to come out. He should've learned to restrain his lust on the internet and those men he picked up would've never told his secret.

Coming to terms with sexuality...better yet, publicizing your god given right can be very difficult in a society where there is so much stigma attached to something so very personal. Anyone who actually is suprised that he is GAY is a pathological liar, but anyone suprised that he actually had the courage to come out with it now may be a little suprised. He probabbly didnt want to do it because of his status during American Idol, and also, whos dang business is it what your sexual preference is? Being heterosexual, and having the paparazzi and the rest of the world in your personal life as a celebrity is already overwhelming-coming out with your sexuality can be a very difficult thing at times. I will say, Mel7, that I am concerned about the childs potential growing pains, having two parents that are homosexual..people can be realy cruel.
