So, the other day some friends and I were going around the neighborhood registering people to vote. I got to the home of an older couple. The woman was eager. She said she was looking for change but she never voted!!! The man said he wasn't going to register because he knows it won't do any good.
People, there are some ignorant people out here (and on MTO) who, even at the present when the US is in the freaking toilet, are STILL not registered voters. The excuse is "My vote won't do anything." I pose this question-What if it does? What if you are wrong? People know cigarettes will kill them but they smoke. People know that you can be infected with an STD or AIDS if you have unprotected sex (even if its with your husband or wife) but they still do it. We know so many things are harmful to our bodies, communities, families...but we still participate. We are not 100% sure that our vote will count. The fact that people were bitten by dogs, hosed down, and murdered just so I could have a chance is enough for me to get off my azz and go to the polls.
Please encourage your neighbors, friends, family, foes...whoever...to register. If you know people who are convicted felons, encourage them to begin the process of restoring their voting rights. If you can't get to the polls GET A RIDE!!!! Get a car pool together early. If you work, ask the boss for some time off so you can get where you need to be...go early.
You still have time to get registererd. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE people!!! Complaining will do nothing for you later!!!! Check out the candidates...be informed...VOTE. PLEASE!!!! |

McCain made a TERRIBLE choice for his running mate. If this is any indication of how the upcoming V.P. debate is going to go, hold onto your seats.
This reminds me of Ross Perot's running mate in '92, the late Admiral James Stockdale, and how poorly Stockdale performed in his V.P. debate.
At the time, I was a Perot fan, until I saw that debate. What a train wreck! Stockdale - whom Perot chose about a week before the debate - was SO poorly prepared and confused. It was very painful to watch.
Stockdale had a very distinguished military career as naval officer (he was a POW during the Vietnam War). But, unfortunately, he'll be remembered for that awful debate.
After watching it, I realized that I couldn't vote for Perot in good conscience, so I wound up voting for Bill Clinton.
(BTW, I'm now a registered Libertarian, and I'll be voting for Bob Barr this November.) |

The only difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Hussein Obama is that Barack was chanting "change, change, change" for six months and black people, Oprah and some celebrities bought into it. He was stuttering, and cluesless too. Now he's improved becoz of a good team coaching him. He now has a little bit of confidence, and off course a teleprompter. Biden is probably a better candidate for President than Obama, even he admitted during the primariries that Barack Hussein Obama was not the man for the job.
